My only trip there came when I had about as many jumps as you do right now. I was welcomed as if I had been jumping there my whole life. By the end of the day, the manifest girls knew my name right away. The owners (two of the best skydivers in the world) both approached me and thanked me for coming, and several people (strangers) offered to jump with me and work on whatever skills I felt like working on. Skydive Chicago is one of (if not the) best dropzones in this country. The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!

Secretly, I think a lot of us think you guys are the shit (that's slang for "one cool mo-fo"). Some of the coolest, craziest, greatest skydivers I know are "belly-fliers" who have been in the sport for 30 some years. And another thing...we all secretly wish you guys would come try to freefly with us sometime, so we can feel like we're better than you at something...even if only for a couple seconds. I graduated from AFF in ZHills while jumping with some of the best instructors on the planet. Am I saying you won't get this quality of instruction at those other DZs? No. But you'll definetly get it at ZHills. VERY highly recommended. The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!

NICE! I thought you HAD to have a cutaway to even get your tandem rating? Let me know how you avoided that...as someday *knock on wood*, I wouldn't mind doing the same, instead of being forced to cut away for the first time just to get a rating. :4:1 Followed out a friend's tandem. It was so fun seeing how excited she was in freefall.

I was fortunate enough to get to witness these jumps. It was cool watchin you guys come in and land. Good spot, and (for most of you) nice landings. We were taking a poll on how many of the 19 would have to cutaway, the general consensus was 2...you came away with zero...which was cool...I guess. I'll bite. Although I've never met him, I really appreciate knowing Quade. Throughout my months on this board, every now and then he chimes up and says something very helpful and thoughtful to me, and I've enjoyed that. Hopefully someday I'll get to make a jump with "the world's most boring skydiver". Cheers. Edit: Oooh...staying on the theme of people I haven't met ~ AggieDave and ChopChop are two other jumpers I have appreciated knowing through these forums very much. Another one: billvon. I met billvon at Rantoul this year. I went to Brian Germain's canopy seminar 'cause I wanted to learn how to stop scrapping up my knees when there is no wind. Anywho, for whatever reason, Brian wasn't there on time. Bill came up and sat down beside me. I don't think we realized who each other was at the time, but he was very cool giving me some good advice on canopy flight while we listened to these two stoned chicks talk about skysurfing. Billvon....very cool. I also appreciate his lasting passion for the sport. At 3,000+ jumps, he was right there beside me hammering out those hop and pops out of the PAC on one of those shitty weather days. Bill leads by example, which is cool. The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!

One thing I have found in this sport: If you love jumping enough, you will do anything and everything you can to make sure your butt stays in the air. My advice? Don't put yourself on a schedule, 'cause you limit yourself by doing so. Just make every effort to jump as much as you can, as often as you can. I'd be willing to bet that you finish these student skydives quicker than you think you will right now. The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!

Can I move out there with you too? I went there on a vacation as a kid and fell in love with the place. It'd be cool as poo to live out there for a year or two. The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!

If you're someone who believes in the RSL system, get a Vector III Micron with a SkyHook. From some casual research, it seems to me the pin protection and riser protection on a Vector is damn near second to none. (Correct me riggers and smart people if I'm wrong there).
