I think base jumping is an awesome sport. I can only imagine the adrenaline rush you must get jumping from a low structure. I think it is odd that not all skydivers feel this way. I mean, for me, getting into skydiving was a way to get an awesome rush. That would be the same motivation for me *when* I eventually get into base jumping. When I was hanging with some base jumpers at one point, some people said things like "oh, no... stay away from those guys... now she's gonna want to start base jumping" haha. Funny, I heard the same thing from the RW crowd when I started talking to the freeflyers. :D I suppose that some people can't accept that others base jump because it is a very high risk sport. while you're up there, practice your flat turns. I have practiced flat turns so much that it is my first reaction when I think i'm low and need to turn. Even if I may be fine without a flat turn, I still use them if there is even the smallest doubt in my mind that i'll not be level without one. Flat turns flat turns flat turns, use them often and they will (hopefully) become instinct. Also, land crosswind on a not so windy day. Just so that you realize that it isn't so bad and it can be done safely. Of course be ready to plf if you need to. Angela.

I enjoyed the 2nd movie, but I thought that the third seemed like too much of a love story. I wasn't there to see a drama. Some of the spoken words were too predictable, like a love story. Sickening. Toward the end of the movie I ended up laughing at a lot of the corny parts. jmo of course. Angela.

I don't think the day after a holiday is the same at all. That is very unfair. I'm sure that your daughter and your family are both glad to have holidays together when they do. It isn't like your family has a day-after-thanksgiving holiday they spend together, right? So, why should it then be fair for her to think that that day is equivalent? It is not. I think that you should have alternating holidays, period. One year you get Thanksgiving and your Ex gets Christmas. The next year, you get Christmas and your Ex gets Thanksgiving. It's only fair, and I would attempt to appeal to her sense of fairness and reason with this logic. Ask her how she would feel if she were put in this position? Having her daughter on the day after holidays rather than on the holidays? You have paid your dues and been a good father and you deserve better than being treated this way. Good luck. Talk to her again first, tell her that you don't want to cause problems but that you really feel that you're being treated unfairly and deserve to spend some holidays with your daughter. I'd really like to fly with sunglasses, but I wear contacts. I am not at all blind without contacts, they just keep me from getting headaches from overcompensating for my crappy vision by straining/focusting. I wear daily contacts, so losing them isn't a real problem, but it would be annoying if they dried out instead. You think those kind with the foam might be ok to use with contacts? I like having no goggles on after canopy is opened, the feeling of air on my eyes is nice:) thx. angela.
