  1. Yes, I meant 3 or 4 seconds. And this is after the canopy had more or less filled with air. PcCoder.net
  2. Zero reserve rides. Reason = Luck. I try to be careful, maintain a good body position on opening, etc. but I figure it's just a matter of time before the s**t hits the fan, so I continue to practice the moves all the time so I'll be prepared for when it does happen. PcCoder.net
  3. That was a good read. I am personally thankful for all the sacrifices that the older jumpers made in the past to make skydiving a more safe sport that I can enjoy today. PcCoder.net
  4. I wish I could do more, however I only get to go every other weekend. I'd probably do at least twice as many jumps if I didn't have children and huge child support payments. PcCoder.net
  5. I wanted to select safety, but the attitude at my DZ is safety. So, I selected attitude. The rest just fits. PcCoder.net
  6. ok, then according to PD's website definition of snivel, that is exactly what I was talking about. After the canoy inflated, it kind of cocked back and forth left and right while the slider stayed at the top. Finally after what seemed like a long time (probably 3/4 seconds) it started to come down, but it had never taken that long in the 64 previous jumps I had done. PcCoder.net
  7. I mentioned to someone this weekend that my canopy snivelled forever before opening. I thought this meant that the canopy pretty much hunts left and right while opening until it fills with air. He said to me he thought it was something else. Am I way off? PcCoder.net
  8. I never pack either, just packed during class. PcCoder.net
  9. That's funny, I knew going into it that there was no possibility of not finishing. It was a personal quest. PcCoder.net
  10. I have two children which I had prior to jumping. I feel like with the amount of child support I am paying every month it is my fate to continue paying all the way until they are grown up, so I don't feel like I will have to worry about a skydiving injury
  11. Yea, and I got my flat side Mindwarp in Dec, just before this was available, WTF??? PcCoder.net
  12. I still rent gear and although I took a packing class, I have never packed my own chute since the class. I remember cocking the PC in the class, but this talk about it getting forgotten and then having a pilot chute in tow malfunction has got me thinking I might need to show extra special attention to this in the future when returning the gear to the packing area. Thanks. PcCoder.net
  13. Just got a michigansuits freefly suit, it is the bomb. www.michigansuits.com PcCoder.net
  14. I'm thinking the biggest concern should be the fact that you normally fly a 210, are going to purchase a 190 (never flown before??) and would potentially have a 176 reserve. I wouldn't want to be under a reserve first time I needed it if it were both not ZP AND smaller than the main you normally will be used to. PcCoder.net
  15. I remember it being really hot on the plane in the dead of summer at Titusville. But, the heat and sweating only last for a few minutes, then it's cool as the plane is in the air, etc. PcCoder.net
  16. I got a new Mindwarp at Christmas, love the way it looks/fits/feels. PcCoder.net
  17. Skyventure/Orlando is the greatest invention of all time. PcCoder.net
  18. I agree, even though I will always use my AAD. It's like the seatbelt law, if I don't want to wear it, that's my decision (even though I wear it). PcCoder.net
  19. Update at 3:30pm, Sunday.. Sunday was great, weather, planes, jumps, heli!!! Weather got bad for about one hour around 11:30am. Back to jumping right after lunch. Good Day. PcCoder.net
  20. What about doing a full moon while jumping? PcCoder.net
  21. Ill be your friend. Just got home from Titusville, was there since 9:30 am. The weather was blue, very pretty, but the winds were really strong. Non of the fun jumpers that I usually jump with were jumping, these are guys/girls who have hundreds of jumps. The tandem masters were even complaining about it and landed out in the big field instead of right next to the hanger like normal. The uppers were "around 60mph" this morning said one jumper. Ground winds had to be 15+ with gusts at times in the 30s or 40s. It was too windy and consequently I got NO jumps in. Did you hear that. NONE, damn it!!!!!! But I did buy a nice t shirt which had Pauline Richard's silohuette on it. Maybe it'll be better tomorrow. I am going to check www.weather.com, NOT!!! PcCoder.net
  22. so what did you do to cause him to throw up? PcCoder.net
  23. holy shit, you took it even farther than me PcCoder.net
  24. That seems kind of like a weak response to the question. I can make statements about how we ain't seen nothing yet too. Oh, never mind, I don't want to get into this relegious discussion. But something else, the movie was really not all that good, had alot of gore. But didn't really offer anything interesting that we haven't already heard, and certainly wasn't "moving" or anything like that, all the crap I keep hearing in the media, it's because a bunch of old lady's are going to see it who don't usually sit through "Full Metal Jacket" so they think this movie is horrific. Get real, everyone was barbbaric back then. PcCoder.net
