  1. I had a couple of 90's and on the video, it looks as if the canopy was at 90 when starting to inflate, thus it did not turn into a 90. I then wathced another jumper, closing his bombproof rig, but he first close the bottom pin and then the top. I then tried it on my perigree-pro, and done 2 jumps so far...so good. It almost seemed a lot more accurate. (I know, it is still only 2 jumps...) It looks to me as if one can position your canopy better in the container if you first close the bottom one. Shift, shake and move it till is +-100% alligned, and then close the top one. Anybody any experience or comments on this?
  2. Can anyone tell me why we/they/us don't use spring-loaded PC's in BASE. The same type we use in all our reserves. It would also make a lot of sense to me with the wing suite thing and the burble problem. Any ideas anybody?

    DBS questions

Tom, If your canopy opens with the factory-dbs, on slider up, does this means 'it works'? Are there any other factors one should keep in mind, apart from 'back-surge', like, does my canopy take more altitude to open than previously? Is this a mesuarable risk? Why I ask this is I am also trying to set my DBS, and jumped S/U on factory-DBS. All went well, but I am not sure if there are things I should be aware of. Also, as I understand from previous posts, is there an increase in the jelly-fish thing on vented canopies when opening on the edge of stalling or just before? With my current setting, I experience it, but not consistent. I jump a BlackJack. Cheers
  4. One of the big aspects of BASE is to overcome your fear and/or to feel the adrenaline, too approach the unknown in form of opening distance to the ground and object strike. By removing risk you inherently removes all these factors, that makes BASE, BASE. Removing risk removes training, the need for knowledge, improvement. Hitting the ground with a closed container, changes from nightmare to routine. What have you achieved? It will merely become an activity, such as driving two cars oposite ways on the free-way at 100mph, 1 or 2 feet apart from each other. It doesn't bother you, nor does it stimulate you anymore than your grand mother. Doing the same with the cars, add the possibility of a 180, and granny is going to stay at home. Sex without the climax, this is what you are asking of me. A challenge without the possibility of victory or failure.
  5. Cheers for the advice. I will try the 'toggle-shift-opposite riser' and the 'bump-bump' methods. If that fails I'll try the 3/4 and open mouth thing. Cheers.
  6. All, Can anyone tell me how do I generate side-slip with my canopy. I.E. make the canopy of the nose pointing in constant direction, but canopy is moving to side. Wich riser/toggle input should I try. Cheers
