Things you wish you had...
Lostinspace replied to krazykate's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
that's easy, you'll find some over here... Do I get a free tandem? Even most women sized gloves, appropriate for jumping, are too big for me. -
It looks just like my license, just on paper with an "official stamp" I have lost my license before. I tried to rent a car in July with a paper one, at a no name discount place, they would not take it. I do have a passport... and credit cards. Jen, I am hoping to go to florida next week. Want to come?

Gloves that fit. -
Can't I just have my rigger attached my old custom colored hackey?
-
I need a new pilot chute and my kill line needs to be replaced. Should I order a Main PC/Center line or just order a Main PC and have a rigger replace the kill line? ... or see if I can replace the kill line during DeWolf's rigging class next month?

-
Congratulations! I just got my C license also!

I’m 5’0. I have 2 containers. The yoke on both containers is a little wider then my shoulders. Do all containers have such a wide yoke? Could my packing be to blame? What do other small girls do? -b

Slider Collapse Line Caught Between Fingers on Final
Lostinspace replied to Lostinspace's topic in Safety and Training
I slid it in. I have a tab at the end of the collapse line. The tab was wedge inbetween my pinky and ring finger, all the way at the base of my fingers. no. no. I have mini risers with slinks and I use the hats/bumpers that prevent the slider decending on to the risers. I spoke with an AFFI. He said this is one reason to stow the slider behind my head. I plan on removing the hats/bumpers from my rig. -
Jen, Big thank yous to you too!

Slider Collapse Line Caught Between Fingers on Final
Lostinspace replied to Lostinspace's topic in Safety and Training
I had an exciting landing this weekend. I wore gloves and somewhere on final, the cord to collapse my slider became caught inbetween my fingers. There was no time to get it out, so I only had a few inches of flare. -
Well, that's easy enough to fix with a pair of scissors -- just get a 140 and cut it in half!!! Lengthwise or crosswise? Wendy W. Like lengthwise is even an option! Do it crosswise, get rid of the back half. You'll have a more impressive aspect ratio and reduce the drag from those pesky rear risers (you need the front ones, they're essential to swoop.)

I think on the whole that's probably a good thing. OK, I'm curious now about how this was proven. Did they sneak up behind the elephant and shout in its ear? Elephants can't "run" either, they just walk really fast. Yes, i'm serious.
