RSL's are good. I have seen 2 students cut away and been saved by the RSL, they did not pull the reserve hand. The one student was unable to pull the reserve handle due to his left arm been broken due to and unstable deployment. The other was in a Spiralling Malfunction and got disoriented. Cutaway and did not deploy the reserve handle.
