Why do they give cars to people who aren't smart enough to work a shovel? -=-=-=-=- Pull.

Actually, when you bend over... -=-=-=-=- Pull.

What happened on the lineover? What was the eventual outcome, and what did the robot do on the way to the eventual outcome? -=-=-=-=- Pull.

Our ripcords were always mounted at about the BOC position, so 1. we could never see them and color wasn't important and 2. we always reach to the same place to pull, we just have to remember whether to throw it away or hold onto it. I have always gotten it right so far.

Dude, punctuation will make your arms, legs, and ass get stronger.

I try to walk the bag down the lines as I do the lines because I think it looks cooler. -=-=-=-=- Pull.

Two line-twist openings in a row may just be chance. I think you should jump a bunch more times just to be sure. -=-=-=-=- Pull.

Is there some sort of constraint that was left out here? Like, there are only two black hats and two white hats? -=-=-=-=- Pull.

Vertigo,Hypoxia or something medically wrong with me?

Don't quit jumping, quite smoking. Not sure which is easier - that's a fast horse race! -=-=-=-=- Pull. -
Potentially dangerous situation in thick cloud - any advice?
FrogNog replied to Peej's topic in Safety and Training
This wouldn't work for me because I don't jump with a compass, so if I'm in the middle of a big puffy, I would have no idea where North or the line of flight is. -

More questions: 1. What is the altitude of your DZ (or a differen question, what was your MSL exit altitude, if your ASL was 13.5k)? 2. Do you smoke? 3. How high was your previous jump that day? -=-=-=-=- Pull. -
Looks to me like he's been hitting the Nuprin pretty hard. -=-=-=-=- Pull.

Bonus points for whomever knows the reason CO causes hypoxic-like issues. -=-=-=-=- Pull.

The school should issue a mea culpa for the vague definition and change the name of the award to "Black American" or "Negroid American" award. Clicky - it's in the dictionary. If they want to restrict the award to certain people, fine by me. But truth in advertising - if the award is for people whose ancestors are, based on skin color, bone structure, or DNA (mitochondrial or otherwise) from a specific ethnic group, name the ethnic group unambiguously. I would also accept "African-American (but not European-African-American)" award. Additional exclusions may be necessary for super-Saharan African-Americans (e.g. persons from Egypt) and Asian-African-Americans. -=-=-=-=- Pull.

If there's one more load and I really want to be on it, or if the 3 other people there need me to be on it , I will sometimes have someone pack for me. If that person is one of the riggers that taught me to pack, chances are good it'll open right. And I pack so slow. -=-=-=-=- Pull.

Tears...To...My...Eyes... I saw this before but, doubtless through the same chemistry magic that allows women to forget childbirth and go through it again another time, I removed it from my mind. That jacket is just too much for me, and the helmet... Bwahahaha! -=-=-=-=- Pull.

I agree. This is why I got some topo maps and marked distance rings on them. I wasn't totally comfortable with "and when the winds are above 40, we're off the edge of this photograph and about two fields down, maybe over that road at the top of the hill - you know which one I'm talking about?..." 'Course, you have to jump out there a few times before a topo map begins to match up to real world.

As long as pilots are using GPSes with batteries, there will be spotting practice.

Some comparisons to our 182s: * You can to talk to your friends on the ride up? 182s are loud. I've had to settle for getting enough hearing protection and learning sign language. * sound and smell. I agree here, nothing brings back all the weekend overhead airplane sounds I grew up with like a 182! And the smell of 100LL is tasty - I haven't gotten used to Jet A yet, and there's too much of it; 182 exhaust is more of a "dessert" smell, teasing your nose periodically. * heater? You have a heater? * 4-way launches: these are not only a great sense of accomplishment (especially if you are outside step, hanging on in the wind for what seems like forever), they're also very friendly. "Budge up - budge up - share a bit o' step, there!" The count is pretty easy, too - inside step just leaves when crotch bonks their helmets together.

I understand the issue of "keeping good with the neighbors" in skydiving, but is the color of the hangar really that much concern to farmers? That would be like us complaining that up to about 5k you can really smell the liquified cow shit they're spraying on the fields below us. I like the pink hangar. But, then, I have a beige allergy (so many years in software ), and white or off-white (or even white with red stripes) hangars are a dime a dozen. -=-=-=-=- Pull.

IIRC, the double-wide leg straps are a free option on the Infinity. (Not sure if this changed with the new year.) -=-=-=-=- Pull.

I heard ChopChop can do whatever the hell he wants on jump run, just because he's a moderator. -=-=-=-=- Pull.

When I went to Velocity Sports to give them my order details, the guy there helping me out (sorry pal, forgot your name; great guy) said a key difference between para-pak and cordura for the backpad is whether I wanted it to slide all around real smooth (para-pak) or be rather firmly anchored to me (cordura). My personal preference at my current experience/comfort level is to have the rig glued to my back, so I did cordura. Having a rig slide smoothly around sounds comfortable in that "so comfy you freak out three times by pull altitude because you think you forgot your rig" way.

In general terms, he hit the ground kinda hard. Avoid that. -=-=-=-=- Pull.
