  1. Is that a uvula piercing she has?
  2. I was unencumbered by the visuals (body language, facial expressions, leaning), as I was listening to an audio feed, not watching. Especially with the various camera shots, it's less distracting from what is actually being said. Bush may have waffled and whined a bit, but I think that his presentation style was a valid one. He should emphasize flexiblity in modifying strategy as an ongoing process, rather the "my way right or wrong, since we are on this course" rhetoric. Kerry seemed to emphasize Afghanistan as the sole seat of terrorists a bit too much. He did take the opportunity to clarify some of his positions. Both misspoke, but that should be of little concern. I often stumble over my words, too. I would prefer that my president do better than that, but it is not really the issue.
  3. The Thailand trip cost from the U.S. was less than the 300 way Eloy one, including everything, and was twice as long. Even if you were local to Eloy (no flight, car or hotel), the cost was about the same, after taking meals into account. Don't know, but you could go cross-correlate the rosters at the web sites, and tell us! My offhand guess would be maybe 240.
  4. I hear one "nucular" followed by a slight pause, be he said it correctly after that.
  5. I'm still at work, so I'm listening, not watching. So far, it's preaching to the choir, on both sides. Both men keep repeating themselves -- must be firing off practiced phrases.
  6. I never could understand the get out to vote campaign. Educate yourself on the issues, then vote.
  7. Most of the cited examples of flip-flops are partial information, or the information is not correctly interpreted by the average (dismal) reader.
  8. Not much of a herd, if he's putting them on 1/4 acre, unless it's a herd of chickens.
  9. Nah, these guys have been wood shedding. Any way, I mean notable quotes, at least as funny as "put it in a lock box."
  10. How many ridiculous gaff quotes will we get from this debate? I'm saying 3, split 2:1. Unless you include "nucular," in which case there would be more.
  11. The Congressmen that altered the proposed bill to keep the tax cuts were the ones screwing the troops, and their constituents as well.
  12. Sound good, but I'll have to find somewhere enroute to watch the presidential debates.
  13. Where's the All Night Party?
  14. Damn, if I had larger feet, I'd bid on that.
  15. He shouldn't be. Catsup has natural mellowing agents.
  16. From my observations, the Neptune has multiple levels of low-battery detect. At the higher one, the low-battery icon appears, but the unit continues to operate correctly. As the battery drops more, the voltage is too low to reliably write the non-volatile memory, and memory functions (read and write) are disabled. I've always found the logged jumps to still be there (i.e., not really empty) when I replaced the battery. Any jumps made while the battery was too low were not logged, though. Just my educated guess, as I don't know the actual operation of the circuitry. I bought 22 batteries from Digikey, so I'm set for at least a few years.
  17. Yeah, but this bear needs spectacles. http://www.ifilm.com/viralvideo Page down to Bear Ecstacy (mature)
  18. Leather and some vinyl will also pass the FAA flame test.
  19. Goo-gone. It's kinda like turpentine, but a lemony scent added so that you don't know you are paying 10x as much! Find it in your drug store or grocer's.
  20. Here are your candidates, showing their stuff in debate: http://www.comedycentral.com/mp/play.php?reposid=/multimedia/tds/stewart/jon_7131.html&setplayer=real_media Which one is promoting your ideals?
  21. Well, it'll have to get a lot bigger, to be a fungi to be with!
  22. Six munce ugo I cudn't spell "skidyver", and now I are wun! My main complaint is that I read so much bad grammar/spelling, that, when I see something used correctly, I sometimes doubt it. So many posts use "your" when they mean "you're" that correct usage looks strange.
