A better way out of line twist!
ksjumper replied to JohnDeere's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I had some pretty good line twist this weekend on a jump and used this method and it seemed to work. -
We have low time jumper looking to by some used gear for her first rig. The rig in question has a cayenne light 210ft2 made by Firebird. Is Firebird still in business, is it supported in the US? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry to hear about the cancelled jump. It would have been memorable. Blue Skies patriots! Thank you.

I would like to make a call to action to USPA, dropzones, and demo organizers to sanction flag jumps everywhere this coming Sunday, the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on America. If you have the ability, set aside time that day to make this happen...... because we remember and will never forget. Our dropzone will be doing the jump at 12 noon. Whether you have a big flag or little flag, this is something we need to do.

I love my sabre 2 but it when it enters turbulent air it acordians badly and nearly collapses. I only wingload 1.13 however. Please be aware of this characteristic. I also experience endcell closure but that is never a concern.

Setting landing direction #2 (was: Perris double fatality)
ksjumper replied to Airman1270's topic in Safety and Training
I think no matter what size aircraft we are all jumping from we need to communicate our intentions before we board the plane. I.E. the landing pattern, who is going to do a HP landing, who is opening high, size canopies etc. We've gotten a custom to talking about how to load the plane for proper exit order before we jump, now we just need to add to the conversation what people will be doing under canopy and landing. Pretty easy to do when jumping out of a C-182 and might require jumpers to circle up to actually talk and find out a little bit about each other before loading an otter. How many times do you jump on a plane and don't know over half the people on the load or their skill level? Even if you do you still ought to find out what your buddies are going do. Could be a little converation like, "You doing your thing?" "Ya, 270, how bout you?" "Yep 450." On alot of loads half of the plane is tandems anyway(assuming tandems aren't gonna start flying into each other) so it ain't gonna be that hard to get on the same page. In both work and play most performance problems are the result of lack of communication. -
The bottom of page 12 speaks to airborne reenactments by civilians.

I hate to say it but the drawings took too long to do. I'm sure your voice was shot by the end of the night. I think in the past they tried pulling tickets through out the day. That might shorten up the giveaways. Easy gig for the bands. That is minor however. It was a great time any way you look at it!! Thank God for the great weather again!!
