To me, the key thing is determining what defines a person as being a lefty or a righty. Based on what you've posted here, you seem to think anyone to the right of you fits that rigid, far right mold. I've always thought of myself as leaning right, but I've tried to distinguish my views from those less, as well as more conservative. I can get that there are conservatives that are less conservative than I am. I've taken several of those political leanings tests and they all peg me as a moderate. The Political Compass test and The World's Smallest Political Quiz come to mind. I'd be interested to see how the more active posters around here would measure up. I used to have a full-auto Colt .45. What was disconcerting was that I never knew when it would slip into full-auto. I would just be plinking away and suddenly...BZZZT...it would empty the rest of the clip. I sent it back to Colt and asked them to either add a selective-fire button, or put it back to permanent semi-auto. They chose the latter. Sounds like a problem with the secondary sear creating a slam fire. That probably scared the shit out of you the first time it happened. Had the same problem w/ a Rugar. Learned to point the first one downward and # 2,3,4 were good to go.
