OK, Schools almost out and I'll be printing more songbooks for Lost Prairie. We haven't had any new songs for 2 years, though Q keeps threatening to finish one. So anyone with a song they'd like to get in the book, bring it. Next year's the 40th and we plan to GO BIG, sucking a lot less. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.

Needless to say, the Hybrid speed contest planned for June 17th at Byron is not happening. We'll try sometime later, this is definitely not the time. madjohn

Thanks to everyone for their replies, especially given with the loss of GFD. God, I loved her. I've got an orthopedic appointment on Thursday so I'll know more then. Big question will be when for the surgery, right away so I'll be ready for LP or wait until later. May have no choice given it's Kaiser. Bottom line is I can walk so I can jump. No tandems in no-wind conditions though. Glad it's after snow season ended. Blues to you all, madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.

Well after almost 27 years in the sport I've finally added knee injury to my collection. Sliding in a tandem yesterday I caught my heel and felt something give. Can still walk but sidewards motions get my attention. So, who else has done it? Did you have surgery and if so, how long was rehab? IF you didn't have surgery, what excercises do you do to keep the knee strengthened? thanks for the info. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.

Saturday, June 16th (see * below) 5-way Hybrid speed event, (2 Belly, 1 Hanger, 2 Stingers) 3 rounds Originally we were planning an 8-way event but decided to start lower and have more teams. Costs and more details to be forthcoming, just wanted to get it out here. * traditionally, the First days of Mad John's speed competitions are invariably blown out by Byron winds Come and Play. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone. -

:You know, I really should keep a calendar near my computer. It's May 13th, before Mother's day. And Gia, there are at least 7 wineries in the vicinity. Great Foothills wines. So if anyone's really interested, Cost is $145. Includes wetsuits, jackets, lunch and the opportunity to wear a Protec helmet again. It's a wet roller coaster ride, based on what melted in Yosemite the day before. So give me a holler if you want in. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.

Mad John's Annual Rafting trip - skydiver Whitewater, the only river here that seems to get skydivers excited. Anyway, Saturday, May 17th, before Mother's Day. Bay Area Skydiving - Organizing Workshop
jdobleman replied to jdobleman's topic in Events & Places to Jump
On Sunday, Feb 19th (Presidents' Day Weekend) Mad John will be holding a workshop for future and current skydiving organizers and anyone who's interested in learning what goes on in organizing skydivers. Topics will be history, philosophy, and practicality of skydiver organizing. Depending on time and weather, there will be hands-on activitities too. Starting at a "reasonable" 10am. Cost is a 6-pack of "non-lite" beer. If interested in attending please send email so we'll know how many to expect.
