Scotty Carbone's 60th Bday Boogie (ZHILLS)
jdobleman replied to carbonezone's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Holy Shit, I'm also older than Scotty Carbone!!!!!! Didn't think that was possible. It's probably because he's lived enough for 3 other people. madjohn -
must be something/one in the aether, i was putting together a collection of Parachutist photos and came across the back cover we had for her. madjohn

Blue Skies, Black Death (Roger Nelson)
jdobleman replied to SkymonkeyONE's topic in Blue Skies - In Memory Of
I played the "Freak Brothers" video last night, great to see his smiling face again. I learned a lot from Roger that I'll continue to pass on. Stay sharp out there, madjohn FB#2136 Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone. -
Today, Tennessee State law says No to Skyride!
jdobleman replied to Jumpdude's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Just for the record: Bay Area Skydiving is in Contra Costa County, which is part of the Bay Area. True, it's at the far east end. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone. -
The original landing area is unavailable ( for sale, ~$375,000). An alternate has been found, better than last year but will still require a trailer ride. Ok, but can you get me to Madjohn instead of jdobleman before you leave? It's been over a year. Congrats on making a successful site that really worked for the community. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.

This is sounding really good. I can see the flock coming back down the valley. I'll bring more smoke. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.

13th Annual Byron Tracking Contest
jdobleman replied to jdobleman's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Winner is whoever tracks the farthest, 90 degrees from jump run. Judges are on the ground at different distances. madjohn -
Montana and possibly Northwest Record probably available. I'll talk to Monkey Boy. Brewery record: rules still in AFFECT. It's one of the things that keeps bringing people backBlue skiesl, madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.

A flock over the brewery is definitely due, especially with smoke. However it still follows the traditional brewery jump requirements: C License qualified, not your first year at LP, and a lottery selection. So hopefully it happens this year. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.

Usually it's late afternoon or early evening before I have a chance to be free for a wingsuit flock but I hope to do more than the two I did last year. Maybe Monkeyboy can lead some, he has more experience now. madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.

13th Annual Byron Tracking Contest
jdobleman replied to jdobleman's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Not as Prestigious as it's older brother, The Lodi Tracking Contest, but possibly next in longevity, this years Byron Tracking Contest will be held Saturday, July 12th at Bay Area Skydiving. There will be an Open Class for 300+ jumps and a Novice Class for -
Granny and Cindy, join us in the morning and I guarantee we'll make it work. Earlier in the week is better because on the weekend it's the "Not even close to sober" loads. Cindy, I'll make it to dinner somehow, with Chateau Mad John. cyall there, madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.

Betsy mentioned the price of fuel, which we all deal with every day, in one way or another. If it ever goes past $6 a gallon, we may all become Base jumpers. In which case the jails will be filled with a new set of folks. I won't even mention hijacking a plane for freefall opportunities. Which probably occurred to Bryan before it occurred to me.(maybe) madjohn Main goals in life: Be on the "Jumpers Over Eighty" (JOE) World Record and attend the Lost Prairie Boogie once after I'm gone.

Fozz, I was only 11 cases but there's still some left for Sunday, if you can make it over. Krisanne, Kudos for spreading the Lang Love to SoCAl. If that doesn't get them to the Prairie, nothing will. madjohn PS We had beautiful weather and 25 loads today. It's true, she bagged early, must have felt the premonition, so no negatories at NW. But she doesn't get any Lang. madjohn

Glad you're a convert Lori. It may be the best thing I've contributed to the skydiving community these past 29 years. madjohn
