  1. Interesting poll choices. I saw a line-up like that in a movie once. Everyone wore a police uniform except the accused. Funny movie. Funny Poll. never pull low......unless you are
  2. It's a misconception about the canopy time. A static line student exits at 3500' and probably gets a canopy a little bit above 3000'. An AFF1 exits at 9,500' or above, pulls about 4,500' and gets an open canopy around 4,000'. That's 1000' more for the AFF student to fly their canopy. never pull low......unless you are
  3. They are students until they have a license. -Some- like to 'classify' those still under an AFF program as students and those graduated to JM themselves...but still unlicensed...as not. I was just clarifying for those who might think differently. I agree with you, however, that they are technically a 'student' until they hold a valid 'A' (for USPA) or equivalent in their country. ltdiver Call them what you want. My point is that the wind limits apply until they have a license. never pull low......unless you are
  4. There would be fewer conflicts if the leaders spent more time on the front lines. We sure wouldn't be electing ivy league pussies. Arnold or Jesse would probably be a popular candidate for the presidency. never pull low......unless you are
  5. Perhaps it is you who have failed to grasp the big picture. Even after Saddam gassed the Kurds, the US gov't still supported him. Clinton's government? never pull low......unless you are

  7. Lol, portraying a cop on the internet? Isn't that a Federal violation Clay? How do you get the donut crumbs out of the keyboard? never pull low......unless you are
  8. I got this from the internet. An Electrifying Personality Don't believe the old adage that lightning never strikes the same place twice. Former Park Ranger Roy "Dooms" Sullivan never did. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Sullivan bas the dubious distinction of being the most lightning-struck person ever recorded. Between 1942 and his death in 1983, Roy Sullivan was struck by lightning seven times. The first lightning strike shot through Sullivan's leg and knocked his big toenail off. In 1969, a second strike burned off his eyebrows and knocked him unconscious. Another strike just a year later, left his shoulder seared. In 1972 his hair was set on fire and Roy had to dump a bucket of water over his head to cool off. In 1973, another bolt ripped through his hat and hit him on the head, set his hair on fire again, threw him out of his truck and knocked his left shoe off. A sixth strike in 1976 left him with an injured ankle. The last lightning bolt to hit Roy Sullivan sent him to the hospital with chest and stomach burns in 1977. Sullivan could never offer any explanation for this strange and unwelcome electrical attraction. never pull low......unless you are
  9. its one of those things that its probably safe Probably is not good enough. The limits are there for a reason. I can't count the times that I saw a newbie land downwind or near objects that cause turbulence. What about landing out or under a reserve? never pull low......unless you are

  13. What difference does it make? Just because you sell someone something doesn't mean they are going to use it Do you sell insurance? never pull low......unless you are
  14. We live in a global society now and decisions have consequences that span national borders. As such, healthy international debate may be in order om certain issues. How does our president going to Bagdad effect other countries? never pull low......unless you are
  15. There is nothing wrong with AFF....The problem happens AFTER AFF. Once the person finishes his 7 jumps he is ignored. I think that this is one of the reasons for the ISP. It keeps all new jumpers under supervision until they have an "A". never pull low......unless you are
  16. !4 mph. You should become familiar with the SIM. It is waiverable to 18mph never pull low......unless you are

  19. and the second because embedded reporting and objective journalism (scarce as it already is in most media) simply do not go together. Yeah, who are they going to believe, Tim Robbins or their own lying eyes? never pull low......unless you are

  21. We never used the trap door. It was inoperable when we leased it. I believe that it belonged to freefall express. I do like the big side door on it though. never pull low......unless you are
  22. It was a porter. I've made many jumps from that plane. I think that someone crashed it though. never pull low......unless you are
  23. Even GWB said in his speech that he knew he was putting everyone around him into great danger. The troops didn't seem to mind. Much ado about nothing. never pull low......unless you are
  24. The main point of concern is that a canopy transfer has always been one of my emergency gameplans, for instance, in the event of a flying yet unlandable damaged main canopy ect.... Initiating a two square out situation doesn't seem like a viable solution to me. Why not cut-away and pull the reserve? Transfers worked when we had round reserves, but I would not do one now. never pull low......unless you are
  25. I'm sure the discussion that led to this was along the lines of "We have this media/PR/political disaster in Iraq that is only generating negative press and effecting the polls...what can we do to spin this into postive press....come on people, we have an election to win!" You say that you are sure of this? How about some proof. Been watching too much West Wing lately? never pull low......unless you are
