I remember having to answer a question about a demo jump, where the demo jumper would be dressed up as a witch, with broom and hat, plus the demo jump was to be at night and close to water. Question was, what to prepare and how to handle this. A number of people started writing like a full page how-to. The correct answer was: Don't what I don't get is the negative attitude of some posters opposing that very legitimate answer.... once again - dz.com kangaroo-court The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

your government has an excellent record of supporting crooks all over the planet to do the dirty work for the u.s. few examples? who invented the mudjaheddin/taliban to fight off russian troops in afhanistan? who invaded iraq to get rid off sadam hussein and opened a shitload of a can of worms? who is still supporting the saudi regime -> which in fact is the biggest supporter of wahabism = radical islam? who helped to topple the regime in lybia leaving a bloody mess? and I haven't even stated to recall all the ops in middle & central america.... It's always fun being lectured to by Germans, who did more than anyone else to create the political dynamics of the last 70 years. you just won me a case of beer: had a bet running with a mate that exactly this kind of reply would come... and btw: being german or not (no, i'm not) makes no difference in the mess u.s. foreign politics left all over the place when fighting commies after WWII The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

a couple's having their 50th wedding anniversary, they are still very fond of each other. so she suggests that they have breakfast like in the times they were young - naked. as they are sitting at the table smiling at each other she says: "honey, looking at you gives my heart such a warm feeling." "no wonder. your tit is hanging in the coffee-mug" three old ladies are bragging about their successfull, wealthy sons and what kind of presents they can afford for their mothers. first one: my son took me on a cruise on hisown yacht a for half year. second one: thats nothing. mine just bought me this nice little island in the carribean. he's also paying for the staff third one: mine's been in therapy for the last 30 years. 5 times a week for 2 hours. and who's he talking about? It's funny how the same joke runs in different countries. I've known this one for years but never figured out how to translate and make it work in english

In many of the safety related discussions one poster turns up stating that a skyhook may have prevented/influenced the outcome - without knowing what the thing really does or how works at all. so I think it's time to come up with the skydivers version of "godwins law": anytime someone posts "skyhook" the discussion is over The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666 -

i remember seeing some "exotic" suits when they cleared on of the storagerooms at the dz last year - on the outside the suits looked nice. having a closer look it turned out that these suits were made out of some sort of coated material perfectly suited for motorcyle rain-apparel Maybe there's legit companies out there, selling good quality stuff but I highly doubt it. If you're poor get the cheapest 2nd-hand suit and jump it till it comes to shreds. and remember this: matching colors are highly overrated The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

I've been around on dizzie for over ten years now, and just to make it clear: I think I know whose posts to value, whose to just skip, and whose to think about twice in every aspect... either to skip the info or to get the message I still value the topical forums a lot, as they can and do provide good information - but as said before: signal to noise gets out of hand very often IMHO. peace The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666

Well put. I'm so happy to see you post that, and I emphasized your points that I feel strongly about. Most of the skydivers that think that dz.com forums are all BS simply don't put enough effort into it. Yet they will spend a lot of time on Facebook learning nothing from their Friends (often meaningless) posts. and that is exactly the point! you have to spend an awfull amount of time to sift through tons of BS just to get the noise-signal-ratio somehow in balance. which is very annoying most of the time and if bloated egos and madeup personas come into play it gets even worse. and I think this phenomenon has gotten worse over the years.... in this context I am more than happy, that I was not alone in thinking something smelled funny and that sparky made the call to create this thread... actually that should have been done by the greenies a long time ago The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver # 666
