What Bill said. Poised/Floating exit and looking up at the plane while falling away was the single biggest help for me. It took a few jumps to correct a "built-in" sub-terminal turn but looking up at the plane seemed to fix it.

Actually (according to wiki), they did this in 1938 (albeit for only one demographic group). Otherwise, the previous laws were somewhat relaxed. It seemed to work out pretty well (...except for that one demographic group).

What's worse is that if Z is intimidated into pleading out, these same race-baiting media whores would forever be able to invoke "Travon" and the "fact" that Zim "admitted" guilt while at the same time lamenting that Z "got off easy" to further fuel their racist agendas. (BTW - I have no problem with Zimmerman being convicted in court if the evidence reveals that he's guilty of the charges.)

Well, I think the end game here is to harass Zim into pleading out, thereby preventing any uncomfortable, uncooperative evidence from getting aired out publicly in court and in the media. This way they "get" Zimmerman for "something", the race-baiters (elected and unelected) save "face" by not being made to look any more like the jackasses they are, and the public soon forgets the whole unpleasant matter. Neat package ...signed, sealed, delivered. And another miscarriage gets a proper flushing. Yeah, they possibly tried to do just the opposite with TM.

Makes his lawyers (and the Florida BAR) dumbasses too, they didn't see an expired passport as an issue or a legal defense fund that was set up after his arrest as a personal asset. The State feel differently, but maybe once in court and both sides get to talk to the Judge, they and we observers can see the real deal. Matt This is just the beginning. The evidence is starting to make a lot of important folks look bad so the public's perception of Z needs to be tweaked, bit by bit. By the time this makes it to trial old Zimmy is gonna make Hannibal Lecter look like the Easter Bunny.

In your example, with the change the mean goes from 65.5 to 66 and the median remains at 64.

Actually, we do have enough information to determine the new median. It must remain at "64" because "70" cannot possibly have occupied position #21 and satisfied both the original median (64) and the original mode (60) conditions. If the original 70 occupied position 21 then position 20 had to hold 58 leaving no room for any of the two or more 60s that we know must be in there somewhere.

Yes, if "n" was odd then the median would be known to still be "64" since 70 and 90 are both on the same side of the middle.

It all goes back to the definition of each of those values. The mean is the average: all values added together, then divided by the numbers in the set (n). You add 20 to the total because it's the difference of the incorrect value from the correct (higher) one. If you need the extra step, essentially once you get the sum of all the scores (65.5x40), you "take out" the incorrect value (-70) and replace it with the correct one (+90). With the information given, you would not be able to find the new median. Yes, but you would only have to know the position that the replaced "70" occupied in the sequence. The median will still be 64 unless a "70" was #21 in the sequence and it was the only "70" in the string. (since 64 is simply the average of the middle two numbers).

By his action (and his violation of Safeway's "zero-tolerance policy on workplace violence") that meat cutter, as a representative of the company, potentially exposed Safeway to million$ in losses if he, that girl, the baby, the boyfriend or some other person happened to be "seriously" injured or worse during the altercation. Would his union have also filed a grievance if he had been injured and could not work after violating company policy? I'd bet they would, claiming that the company failed to provide a safe workplace or some such BS. Besides it looks more like market forces (180,000 signatures) and not union enforcers got him his job back. Of course the union takes the credit. I agree ...the suspension was not the appropriate response. They should have sent him packing. They should have canned him. (sometimes I crack myself up ) My opinion, of course.
