I've been inactive in the sport for a few years but I'd just about bet that I'm separated by no more than 3 from most of you (including newbies) and if you count folks I've personally met and jumped with, but who wouldn't know me if they bumped into me at Walmart, you could reduce that to 2. For example, I've jumped and spoke with Lew Sanborn but I doubt that he could pick me out of a crowd of two. But if you know Lew then we are separated by 2.

Never saw any of them live. Bet that was a good show. I'll have to start paying attention again to who's coming to the area to perform. Here's a little electric RT.

Big fan of Richard and Linda and Fairport and Sandy Denny and Swarbrick and Fotheringay in any combination. Fine as a bee's wing.

Then, I take it that "George" O'Brien lost the election.

That's what I'm thinking! Sometimes song lyrics are quite funny if taken literally. I'm a fan of English traditional folk music and phraseology. There is one song that tells of a sailor who decides to check up on his girlfriend to see if she thinks of him. He sails into town and bangs on her window and she is awakened. She asks who it is and he replies that it is her lover and he asks her to let him in. She takes her sweet time dragging her ass out of bed and down the stairs. By the time she opens the door he has bugged out. She begs him to come back and she'll marry him. He is so pissed off that he replies that pigs will fly (paraphrasing) and "laboring men will forget their labors" before he comes back to her lazy ass. Beautiful song, though.

...Charlie's wife never slipped him a nickel with one of the sandwiches.

Not exactly a "solo" in the strictest sense but Charlie McCoy's acoustic lead threading through the album version of "Desolation Row" is mesmerizing. ....but, except for a couple of "alternate-speed versions", it seems to be blocked on youtube :(

Another. Moody Blues, Justin Hayward, Tele, Ride My See Saw, 2:45 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOgTNJ7W5qo

You've already mentioned a lot of good ones but Paul Cotton's Gretsch on Rose of Cimarron (Poco) is not too shabby. Starts around 2:55 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JF91ul0ZR64

Not only do I believe that personal politics influences the Justices, I expect it. And I think that was the original intent. (Otherwise, why do we need 9 on the payroll?) I think that the "personal politics" of a Justice (at its most fundamental and simplistic level) is really derived from how he or she views and interprets the Constitution. Ideally, that fundamental interpretation will affect how or whether his ideological or sociological beliefs will influence any decisions. Also, I agree with the lifetime appointment. I think that helps to moderate any emotional or reactionary ideological swings in either of the other branches.

I am so old I saw ____ on TV before it was a rerun.

How's this: "Arch Deal and the Fallin' Arches". My brother was part of that demo team. I got a kick out of how Arch padded his "logbook" week to week. Don't know about that. I never paid any attention to other folks' logbooks. I had enough trouble keeping up with my own ...logging jumps on scraps of paper and burger wrappers and such for updating "later". I did a couple of jumps with him a few years ago. Seemed like a nice enough fellow. -

What? No tin foil on the antenna? My Dad put a bar on the antenna pole near the bottom so we could turn it. Turn it this way for Channel 8, turn it that way for Channel 13. Do you remember watching Arch Deal on both of those channels before he bounced? I think Channel 8 really tried to pressure him to quit jumping after that. Skydiving won, of course. Besides turning the antenna, my job was handing tubes to my dad and telling him how the picture looked while he adjusted the set. -

Wow. Just reading all these lists and remembering the crap we were exposed to ...no wonder our generation is so FUBAR! -

Yeah! Even though I only had 3 sisters at the time, it was a "really big" deal at our house. They planned for weeks to watch it and no one dared suggest we watch the other channel. -

Not exactly primetime but my dad and I used to get up at 3 or 4 AM to watch the Mercury and Gemini launches. At least a couple of hours of staring at the white transfer van and the venting "smoke" from the rockets before the launch (or not). -

.....and then someone else jumps in and criticizes everyone else for being biased. Perfect, thanks for completing the pathology. I am only here for the purpose of observing how you psychos operate. The monsters are due on Maple Street.

Rodan Gorgo The Blob ETA - these were at a drive-in. I don't think I went to an indoor theater until the early 60s ...maybe "101 Dalmations" or something like that.

I know Zim was being hidden at an undisclosed location. I wonder if that location is also undisclosed to the court? I would think that the judge would have that information. Maybe not. I wonder what the usual protocol is regarding who is privy to that information and who is not. ??

I think that in Florida, Manslaughter is a "lesser included offense" to 2nd Degree Murder that may be considered by a jury if this goes to trial (which I doubt). I think what the prosecution wants is for Zim to be picked up by a public defender who will "play ball". The judge knew about the defense fund before the bail hearing. I knew about it and I only read about it in the paper.
