With that Upper Stage Simulator creaming into the ocean at several hundred knots, I'll bet that monkey would be screaming. Maybe not as good as a monkey, but there is a "Them ToadSuckers" CRW sticker on the inside of the nosecone on the Ares 1-X. Kevin K. 104% Kewl!!!!

Damn clouds! Now they're waiting for a hole. ltdiver They didn't worry about that "hole" nonsense back during the Apollo launches. I remember a "launch party" on the causeway during one of the moon shots. The cloud base was about twice the height of the Saturn V vehicle and we watched it disappear into the clouds with the clouds glowing orange for several seconds. Kind of eerie looking with that awesome rumble of power lingering for a few minutes. Almost surreal. (of course there probably was a hole over the launch site. we were on the causeway several miles away from there)

Bread needs to go in the freezer as soon as you get it home from the bakery. It'll be fresh as the day you got it when it thaws out in 2-3 mins. I usually get cuban or french bread and cut it up into 6-8" lengths and bag it for the freezer. Hard rolls, too. Don't really know how long it lasts in there since I've never let it go more than a week or so before it gets eaten. PB stays in the cabinet. Anything else that is opened except for SOME spices and maybe cereal goes in the fridge.

Heat a can of pork and beans (the good kind), pour onto plate. Pour chilled applesauce (the good kind, not that nasty organic, natural crap) on top of the beans. On top of that put a couple of well-browned smoked sausage links. Dig in. You got all your essentials. You got cheap. You got your legumes, you got your fruit, and you got your nitrites, as well as various tasty, unidentified dead animal parts. You got texture and the hot/cold interaction is pleasant. Tastes better than it sounds. (I'm not kidding!)

I'm a Gators fan but things now are not as clear as they were a week or two ago. On the other hand, the dose of reality that Arkansas gave Florida yesterday may be just what the Gators need to get back to the top of their game. (although statistically it wasn't as bad as it seemed.) I would like to see a couple of strong non-BCS teams invited to participate somehow.

That is what I think of every time I'm reminded of the old bumper jacks. Jacking a car up wasn't so bad if you cleared the area and took reasonable care, although sometimes the weight of the car just spit the whole jack out. Letting the car back down was the big danger. You just couldn't let that jack handle/tire iron/projectile get away from you. Funny, they still use the "jacking sound" of these old jacks in comedy routines and cartoons....as if the peeps watching it have really ever heard that noise before.
