  1. Your analogy is not a good one. The guy gives you $700 to spend. Then an additional $300 to marry his already pregnant daughter. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  2. I do not deny she is grand standing but I have to say your opinion that her decision to refuse the money in order to grand stand is, not only pure speculation, but also without merit considering her her reasoning for refusal is actually responsible. Put simply... Alaska cannot afford to accept that money. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  3. Personally fleeced? You, and Andy, do realize her and her family did not keep the clothes right? She left them with the RNC who was suppose to donate the clothing but last I heard the RNC hasn't. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  4. because it more an argument against the AWB rather than for. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  5. Thanks. You too John. I had a feeling an ILLEGAL Ak47 was used since the media was pretty quiet about the weapons used. At least they were in the articles I read. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  6. Anyone know what kind of weapon was used against these cops? www.FourWheelerHB.com
  7. A great documentary worth mentioning in this thread. Murderball www.FourWheelerHB.com

  9. Perhaps I'm being slow at the moment ... I'm not following what you mean by "deliberate." Also not sure to whom "deliberate" refers? /Marg I was over-analyzing so I was having this feeling Obama's remark was intentional. To me the "Special Olympics" joke is on par with and just as juvenile as a "your momma" joke so I was having a difficult time wrapping my head around why Obama would make such a remark. But after watching the clip again it's fairly obvious the remark was 'off-the-cuff.' The look on Leno's face was priceless. So in the end I don't think it was that big of deal, however, it does say a lot about our President. www.FourWheelerHB.com

  12. I've thought about it a little today and am having a difficult time not thinking of a certain word... deliberate www.FourWheelerHB.com
  13. She is most certainly grandstanding and setting herself up for a run at the Oval Office in 2012. However I do feel her moves are sincere. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  14. I make no bones about being a Palin supporter. Mainly because she's shown herself to be somewhat honest, for a politician(although very opportunistic), and seems to run her government as a moderate. This subject was breached in another thread but I feel it deserves it's very own thread as I am interested in what you good folks have to say about it. http://www.ktuu.com/Global/story.asp?S=10037536 www.FourWheelerHB.com
  15. It was a stupid move on Obama's part but I don't think it was necessarily worthy of "outrage." www.FourWheelerHB.com
  16. For you I would recommend the Army. No way. The Army is for moderately bright pussies. The Marines is for dumb badasses. Like I said I'm Marine material. Ur too perty to be a Marine www.FourWheelerHB.com

  19. The question isn't what they were, the question is what they intended this country to be ... I was responding to someone who claimed our founding fathers were largely non-christian. I was responding that it doesn't matter what our founding fathers were ... I think it's arguable our nation was in fact founded on Christianity. Freedom of religion was born of pursecution by England for anyone who did not follow the Church of England variety of Christianity. They weren't pursecuted for not being Christian...but for not being a specific breed of Christian. Fortunately, they were smart enough to extend this freedom to religions other than Christianity as well. For the record I'm Buddhist www.FourWheelerHB.com

  21. You are right. He seemed to be more of a Diest than a Christian much like Benjamin Franklin. From what I'm reading HERE, I feel it would be foolish to state our founding fathers were not christian. www.FourWheelerHB.com
  22. In fact! It would seem our 1st President was very much so. George Washington, Proclamation: A National Thanksgiving 3 Oct. 1789 1 Richardson 64 Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me "to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:" Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquillity, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted; for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us. And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations, and beseech Him to pardon our national and other trangressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally, to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best. www.FourWheelerHB.com

  24. Thomas Jefferson Autobiography 1821 The bill for establishing religious freedom, the principles of which had, to a certain degree, been enacted before, I had drawn in all the latitude of reason and right. It still met with opposition; but, with some mutilations in the preamble, it was finally passed; and a singular proposition proved that its protection of opinion was meant to be universal. Where the preamble declares, that coercion is a departure from the plan of the holy author of our religion, an amendment was proposed, by inserting the word "Jesus Christ," so that it should read, "a departure from the plan of Jesus Christ, the holy author of our religion;" the insertion was rejected by a great majority, in proof that they meant to comprehend, within the mantle of its protection, the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mahometan, the Hindoo, and Infidel of every denomination. www.FourWheelerHB.com
