  1. Hey, I have almost no money these days. I have 134 jumps and would like to start jumping again. Problem is- I pay child support and I am getting ready to go back to school so the money is really thin. My question- What is the minimum number of jumps I can do a month and still be considered up to date and safe. 3 jumps? 2 jumps? I just want to get in the air a couple times a month, but wouldn't be able to afford more than 3 jumps a month (Rental gear cost, plus packing, and jump ticket). Another question- Because I can't jump more than 3 jumps a month, should I even bother skydiving? Would I be too unsafe at that minimum number of jumps? I need serious answers from jumpers more experienced than me about this question. Thanks for your time. B
  2. I think the question about drinking alone is really - Do you ever get DRUNK alone? I agree that 3 "yes" answers is sort of pushing it to say someone is an alcoholic. But I just posted the test as Johns Hopkins Hospital has it on their questionaire. My sponsors rule of thumb about the 20 questions is that - if you answer "yes" to any 2 questions - you may be an alcoholic. Any 4 questions with a "yes" and you have alcoholic tendencies. And any 6 questions with a "yes" and you are an alcoholic, whether you like it or not. For what its worth - I answered "yes" to 17 out of 20 when I first got sober. As I analyzed my history of alcohol abuse, I realized after a little sobriety that I actually answered "yes" to 18 out of 20, if I wanted to be honest with myself. I don't like being an alcoholic, but I have to be honest with myself that I am. I don't like having a glass of wine with dinner or a beer after work. I like to get drunk, everytime I drink. If forced, I could have 2 or 3 drinks only, but I am miserable when I do that. One thing I heard at an AA meeting once sums me up - When I controlled my drinking, I didn't enjoy it. When I enjoyed my drinking, I didn't control it... If that is anyone out there too, then try out some of the help that is out there. It is pretty cool and the people are really helpful. Cheers, B
