  1. Yep, muscle relaxers don't just relax your muscles, but for the most part, they alter your consciousness to some extent. "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  2. When they first came out with the RSX I was ready to sell a kidney to buy one. Very hot car.
  3. I've only owned Japanese, and I've never had issues. Currently I drive a 2005 Acura RSX I bought brand spanking new and I love it. I rented American cars before and I found them cheaply put together. "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  4. ((((HUGS))))) and stay strong! "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  5. Is he really being exploited, or is he being enabled to make a living where he would otherwise be dependent on his family and friends to support him due to his condition? Good question. Generally any form of entertainment that gains it's profits from other's misfortune is exploitation in my book. All Dede had to do for a living is to stand there so people can be disgusted/horrified for a fee. True, due to his condition he wasn't able to accomplish much else, his children were doing much of the work around the house, including feeding him. "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  6. Conflicted? I'm sure that he would prefer to be employed in another line of work and live a normal life without the out-of-control warts taking over his whole being. I have seen video of him stating that he wants to live a productive life, and of course, he excited to be able to actually move his hands and feet, again. The whole thing is so sad, but it so wonderful that he is finally getting the help that he needs. I haven't seen the video, but I've seen the documentary, and he may have said that he wanted to be productive. But think about this: this is a life he knew since he was a teenager and the fact is that he disappeared the night before he was due for treatment and rejoined the freak show speaks volumes. I'm very relieved that he chose to get treatment in the end. "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  7. It is. It provided income for him and his children for a very long time. I'm sure he is very conflicted about being treated. "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  8. There was a documentary on him on Discovery Channel. Unfortunately he is being exploited by a guy who owns a freak show, where he is employed along a few other similarly disfigured men. I'm not sure if he actually received the treatment, because according to the documentary he returned to the circus the night before he was due to start. "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  9. Going to the can is something we both prefer to do solo. Personally, I've always had. I don't even feel comfortable in "cubicle" restrooms, for me to fully relax it has to be a "one seater" "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  10. I agree with this completely. I feel there should be a drinking age of some number outside the home, but I also believe that parents should be allowed to introduce alcohol in a reasonable manner in the home. I had my first taste of beer when I was 7 or so, when my dad would let me have a sip of his if we were outside working. He also made wine, so I had my first wine at 9 or 10. A neighbor gave me a bottle of blackberry wine for my very own when I was a teenager, and my parents let me drink it, a bit at a time when they were home. As a result, alcohol was just another beverage to me, nothing special, nothing to go all nuts about. When I turned 21, I bought some just because I could, but didn't even get a buzz at that time, I had a hard lemonade or something... one drink all night. Same here. I was allowed to sip my parents drinks from early on and as a result, I grew up to be a responsible drinker. To me alcohol is really a good glass of wine or a nice cocktail with dinner, not a way to get fucked up on the weekend. As for lowering the drinking age, I'm all for it. If you are allowed to die for your country at 19, you should be able to have a few beers legally. "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  11. I sure would like one those T-shirts... Edited to add: Do yourself a favor and read some of the testimonials, they are something else! "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  12. Looooove them! "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  13. Cats move their young if they think their den is no longer safe for whatever reason. If you didn't hear any commotion she probably found another location for her brood. "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  14. If mom is feral or has been an outdoor cat for most of her life you can't turn her into an indoor only cat. I agree with others though that she should be trapped, checked for FIV and FL, and spayed. Perhaps you can keep her around your home and provide food and shelter. I don't know how old the kittens are but they definitely have a chance for a better life if they get separated from mom at 8-12 weeks and put up for adoption after spay/neuter and a thorough health check
  15. Let's not mix up legal terminology with what "you see with your eyes" The person's level of disability has nothing to do with the status of their guardianship. It may sound unbelievable to you, but even people with severe disabilities have parents and families who care for them. Some parents petition for guardianship for their adult child to have more controll over medical and financial decisions, some choose only medical guardianship. True, their care is funded by goverment /state through day programs, residential placement, staffing and transportation. And believe me, the families contribute generously. Here is my question to you though: DS can be detected during the early stages of the pregnancy when it can be still safely aborted. What do you suggest we do with people with autism, cerebral palsy, or PDD (that's short for Pervasive Developmental Delay)? "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  16. There is definitely truth to the old adage that says "It takes two to tango" While I'd hold my SO primarily responsible, I have no respect for those either who knowingly seduce men/women who are married or otherwise attached... In plain English: I'd kill the bitch! "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  17. According to the Boston Herald they took the loan out to invest in a construction business and used the house as a collateral... "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  18. With all due respect, I beg to differ. I happen to be one of those "compassionate individuals". I've worked with people with disabilities most of my career. Most people with DS are their own guardian, or under the guardianship of family members, not "wards of the state". Many live independently, have jobs, and fulfilling social lives. Those homes that you mention are not "tucked away" but integrated into the community, with caring neighbors. At least that is how things are in the agency I work for. Don't get me wrong, there are still a lot of things to be done and it is a constant uphill battle against looming budget cuts. But you know what? This is the area I'd rather see my tax dollars going. As for whether I would abort a fetus with DS or not, I don't know. I'm not a mother, and I never will be one. You have to consider that there are many serious medical concerns that go along with DS. One of them is Alzheimer'z Disease. In the past, people with DS simply didn't live long enough for this problem to surface, because they died at a young age of heart disease. But thanks to the advances in medical science, they live longer lives and we see the beginning stages of dementia in literally every single one of them as early as their late thirties but definitely in their late forties, early fifties. I guess my point is that each case is unique, and each parent should be able to make their own decision about keeping the pregnancy or not. Edited to add: A person becomes a "Ward of State" if the legal guardian deceases or withdraws without appointing somebody else to oversee the person's affairs. In my 17 year career I've never seen this happen. "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  19. The Lord of the Rings trilogy Gladiator (Are you not ENTERTAINED?) Ice Age (go ahead, laugh) Forrest Gump The Shawshank Redemption The Green Mile The Fifth Element (I can't explain it either) "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  20. I remember those as well. Also, anybody recalls Rhino? I'm not sure he was banned or just left on his own... "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  21. Helped in what exactly, to be adopted by wolves? "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  22. If you see any sign of aggression from your retrievers over food or toys put them in a "time out" by themselves, not together, and only allow them back when they are calm. After a while they should get the message that agression will get them nowhere, except the basement. As for the ignoring part make sure all three dogs are involved in supervised playtime with family to strengthen the bond between the members of the pack. "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  23. It's a poodle, what do you expect? On a serious note, I think your two goldens and your family are already a pack and the puppy is an invader in their eyes. Make sure she has her own food/water dish and bedding and the interactions with the two resident dogs are supervised until they accept her into the pack which should happen eventually. "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
  24. Screw you Billy, I just sprayed quinoa salad all over my keyboard... "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
