Who could have possibly thought that the Fed would raise interest rates after the inflation caused by the Democrat’s money party?

I said no such thing. You are arguing with a straw man of your own creation. BTW guns…AKA fireARMS!

U.S. regulators say Silicon Valley Bank customers will be made whole
brenthutch replied to rmsmith's topic in Speakers Corner
“the head of risk management at SVB spent considerable time spearheading multiple “woke” LGBTQ+ programs, including a “safe space” for coming out stories, as the firm catapulted toward collapse. “These banks are badly run because everybody is focused on diversity and all of the woke issues and not concentrating on the one thing they should, which is, shareholder returns,” Get Woke Go Broke! (And get bailed out by Biden and the Democrats) This dovetails nicely with my EGS thread -
I don’t hear whining from anyone but Ro Khanna.(D) He wined so hard that Biden caved and is using taxpayer dollars to cover deposits >$250k If SVB worked as hard to diversify its portfolio as it did its workforce they might still be solvent.

What about the three million dollars of stock the CEO unloaded the day before the collapse? -
I don’t know, I have a financial advisor who handles the stock/bond part of my portfolio and she does a great job.

Only in the lefty brain is failure a positive. Success is vilified while failure is seen as noble. “If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it, if it stops moving, subsidize it.” This philosophy can be seen in the Inflation Reduction Act, where we will spend nearly a trillion dollars to fight climate change with zero impact on the climate.

If the inch I gave would stop one shooting, school or otherwise, I would gladly do so. The problem is that I am not the problem. Let’s ask the mayor of NYC what the problem is… https://www.politico.com/newsletters/new-york-playbook-pm/2023/02/28/eric-adams-when-we-took-prayers-out-of-schools-guns-came-into-schools-00084832

My post was in regard to ESG as it applies to finance (but you knew that). With that in mind let’s take a look at how ESF funds perform. “Although the highest rated funds in terms of sustainability certainly attracted more capital than the lowest rated funds, none of the high sustainability funds outperformed any of the lowest rated funds.” Oops! It looks like not so well https://hbr.org/2022/03/an-inconvenient-truth-about-esg-investing Lefties love their virtue signaling but when it comes to their personal finance they sing a different tune. (And in perfect harmony with those rascally Republicans I might add)

I don’t see the word democracy anywhere in the government’s description of itself. Have a nice day!
-
From US.gov “While often categorized as a democracy, the United States is more accurately defined as a constitutional federal republic. What does this mean? “Constitutional” refers to the fact that government in the United States is based on a Constitution which is the supreme law of the United States. The Constitution not only provides the framework for how the federal and state governments are structured, but also places significant limits on their powers. “Federal” means that there is both a national government and governments of the 50 states. A “republic” is a form of government in which the people hold power, but elect representatives to exercise that power.” so….not a democracy

My reply was in response to Wendy who said “focusing on the downfalls of democracy, and highlighting being a republic instead,”

ES Gone. https://www.wsj.com/articles/vanguards-ceo-bucks-the-esg-orthodoxy-tim-buckley-net-zero-emissions-united-nations-initiative-nzam-f6ae910d The financial community is finally waking up to the fact their job is making money NOT paying tribute to the nonsensical woke and climate crazy agenda.

Of course

Wendy we are a constitutional republic not a democracy, you should have learned that in sixth grade civics class.

No one is, that is why “Green New Deal Lite” was disguised as the Inflation Reduction Act. I predict it will fail on both counts.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Nearly 70 percent of Americans, including a majority of Republicans, want the United States to take “aggressive” action to combat climate change - but only a third would support an extra tax of $100 a year to help, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released Wednesday. So much of a threat that they are unwilling to spend 27 cents a day to do something about it.

He must be doing something right “Statewide, 64 percent of Florida voters approve of the job DeSantis is doing, versus just 24 percent who disapprove. Support for DeSantis is broad across nearly all political and demographic groups.”
-
Bottom line “Statewide, 64 percent of Florida voters approve of the job DeSantis is doing, versus just 24 percent who disapprove. Support for DeSantis is broad across nearly all political and demographic groups.”

Maybe he thinks it is more important to focus on math and reading rather than waste limited time and resources on this https://youtu.be/d4vHegf3WPU

Sort of like gender dysphoria “According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition, gender dysphoria prevalence accounts for 0.005–0.014% of the population for biological males and 0.002–0.003% for biological females”
