Belief in man made climate change declining
brenthutch replied to brenthutch's topic in Speakers Corner
It’s funny how giving me a one month time out still doesn’t change the fact that folks only support climate action in the abstract. When they have to pay for it, support craters. That is why the Ds had to name their Green New Deal Lite, the Inflation Reduction Act. Funny fact: Even after spending nearly a trillion dollars to lower our CO2, 2023 emissions are expected to outpace 2022. Not only are renewables unable to replace fossil fuels en masse they are not even able to keep pace with the increase in demand on the margins. -

The backfiring continues “Alissa Heinerscheid, who oversaw Bud Light marketing, has taken a "leave of absence"” I wonder what she feels about those “poor humored fratty” types now? https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2023/04/22/bud-light-marketing-shake-up-following-dylan-mulvaney-controversy/11719274002/

If you would have read the link, the drop in the belief of AGW comes primarily from Democrats, Independents and GASP! young people! -

https://apnorc.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/EPIC-factsheets.pdf “Americansarelessconvincedthatclimatechangeis caused mostly or entirely by humans compared to data from recent years, declining from 60% in 2018 to 49% this year. ● Thisincreaseddoubtwasjustassignificantfor someone who graduated from college as someone who has a high school diploma or less (11 percentage point drop), and was more pronounced for younger Americans (17 percentage point drop for those ages 18-29 vs. 9 percentage point drop for the 60+ age group). ● Democratsandindependentsarebecomingless convinced that climate change is caused mostly by humans, while Republican attitudes remain stable.” This decline will continue as the costs of “energy transition” start to bite. I think we are close to a tipping point with less than 50% believing this man made climate change nonsense. I’m glad to see my work on this has not been in vain.

Secure the border don’t shut it. Notice how the number of fentanyl deaths were largely flat in during the previous administration and how they have skyrocketed under the current administration.
-
Even more Americans are killed by fentanyl pouring through our open southern border, why do you support a president who is complicit in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans?

It hardly matters what happens to Ukraine, Russia has lost. It is in a demographic death spiral from which it can not recover and the war in Ukraine has only expedited its demise. The mass exodus of young talent to avoid the draft and the hundred thousand plus casualties from Putin’s misadventure has destined Russia to become a minor East European state or a vassal of China.

I’m glad that you agree with me that gas prices are driven by market forces and not some cabal of cigar chomping oil executives.
-
What ever happened to those sky high gas prices? Did the big evil oil companies have a big bowl of Stupid Soup for lunch and forget how to control prices, or does the market have something to do with it?

NPR now has the same categorization as as Russia's RT and Sputnik, as well as China's Xinhua on Twitter.
-
It might not meet some other arbitrary definition of state affiliated. However in reality they are affiliated with the state. “NPR may receive little direct federal funding, but a good deal of its budget comprises federal funds that flow to it indirectly by federal law.”

NPR was so freaked out that they quit Twitter

PR firm’s idea on how to win back Bud Light customers

And that is why your electricity is so expensive “PG&E customers pay about 80% more per kilowatt-hour than the national average, according to a study by the energy institute at UC Berkeley’s Haas Business School with the nonprofit think tank Next 10.”

Elon can speak for himself, I let NPR do the talking for me.

You not understanding

“on NPR’s website, on the page detailing the organization’s funding, NPR spokesperson Isabel Lara said in an email to POLITICO, noting that the word “essential” is written in bold. “Federal funding is essential to public radio’s service to the American public and its continuation is critical for both stations and program producers, including NPR,” the website reads.”

Never said gas tax was the only source of revenue for roads. Nice try.
-
They pay more than EVs, wouldn’t you agree?
-
And they pay for that by paying more in gas taxes, unlike EVs. Ford F-150 4100lbs pays for roads via gas tax Tesla Model X 4500+lbs freeloads and pays ZERO I made sure to type slowly so you could keep up.

That was in response to the introduction of “intersex” (not by me). Here is the spokesperson for women purportedly doing women stuff in the great outdoors. https://www.tiktok.com/@dylanmulvaney/video/7098392494387334442?lang=en
