  1. It depends on the election. Gun sales plummeted after Trump won and the specter of a Clinton gun grab evaporated. If Trump wins, great deals on guns and ammunition will be a few months away, OTOH a Biden win will ensure record sales, high prices and shortages for the foreseeable future. Ironic, isn’t it? The party that wants to reduce the number and type of firearms citizens own, is responsible for literally millions of guns pouring into the hands of those very folks.
  2. “Wildfire has been an important process affecting the Earth's surface and atmosphere for over 350 million years and human societies have coexisted with fire since their emergence. Yet many consider wildfire as an accelerating problem, with widely held perceptions both in the media and scientific papers of increasing fire occurrence, severity and resulting losses. However, important exceptions aside, the quantitative evidence available does not support these perceived overall trends. Instead, global area burned appears to have overall declined over past decades, and there is increasing evidence that there is less fire in the global landscape today than centuries ago. ” https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4874420/ BTW here in the US, in1930 and 1931 more than 50 million acres burned https://www.nifc.gov/fireInfo/fireInfo_stats_totalFires.html It comes down to believing the narrative or understanding the facts, I choose the latter.
  3. No link to climate change, at least according to NOAA and the IPCC. https://www.gfdl.noaa.gov/historical-atlantic-hurricane-and-tropical-storm-records/ https://www.ipcc.ch/site/assets/uploads/2018/03/SREX-Chap3_FINAL-1.pdf “Natural variability combined with uncertainties in the historical data makes it difficult to detect trends in tropical cyclone activity. There have been no significant trends observed in global tropical cyclone frequency records, including over the present 40-year period of satellite observations“ I understand this will confuse those who get their “science” from CNN and MSNBC, but there you have it.
  4. Same here, that all changed when I watched my daughter my daughter’s birth. I am still pro-choice but pro-choice to a point.
  5. That would be called an “infringement” and the 2nd amendment mentions, “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”. I am unaware of the amendment which states, “the right to murder your unborn child shall not be infringed”* *a bit hyperbolic, but I hope you get the point
  6. That said, the major reversals of the court have reflected changing societal morays, Plessy v Ferguson being the most obvious. Roe v Wade, while considered wrongly decided by many constitutional scholars (including RBG), has been woven into the fabric of American society and is unlikely to be reversed. (Nibbled around the edges perhaps, but not reversed) I would advise against buying clothes hanger stocks; the opinion of BillV and Kallend not withstanding.
  7. Right after the Republicans take away social security and repeal the 19th amendment. It’s a bugaboo the Ds have been rolling out for years. Remember this gem? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gII8D-lzbA yes, that is right Biden said that Romney was going to bring back slavery. Now everyone knows it’s not true except for all of the sheep on the left, like this young women https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvoZdnActy0
  8. Something like “although I agree with the plaintiff and I do believe the law is on her side I am going to have to rule against her because I must defer to my husband, who feels otherwise”
  9. I forget about half of the time, at least I didn’t say sight
  10. If impacts all of her rulings it should be easy to site just one example of what you are talking about, otherwise you are just chasing windmills.
  11. The Tzar Bomba did not kill 200,000+ Americans and cause a run on toilet paper and ammunition and shut down our economy.
  12. Do you really think she has gotten this far in life by having hubby on speed dial..... With the addition of another Constitutional Originalist to the bench, I suspect it may take less time to reach a decision. Roberts will no longer be burdened with the task of rewriting bad legislation to shoehorn it into Constitutional muster.
  13. Do you really think she has gotten this far in life by having hubby on speed dial so she could clear all of her rulings with him? Can you cite an example in ANY of her rulings to support this ridiculous claim?
  14. That is why there are nine Justices, she can’t do anything unless four others agree. I remember the fight over Roberts. We were told “the streets will run red with the blood of back alley abortions” if Roberts ascended to the court. Come to think about it, we heard the same about Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh. All of the dire predictions failed to materialize, yet we did spend a tremendous amount of bandwidth trying to destroy good people and dividing the country.
  15. Getting back to the topic of the OP, what do you guys think about the nominee?
  16. Yes Trump is responsible for the riots in Democrat controlled cities and the defund the police movement. Not to mention, his pledge to ban popular firearms has lead to an unprecedented run on guns and ammunition resulting in nationwide shortages of both. I can’t wait until Biden gets into office, I have my eye on a Ruger AR-556 MPR.
  17. I did upgrade the trigger, trigger guard, buffer, charging handle and feed ramp which puts it north of the Ruger, price wise. And although it goes bang every time you pull the trigger, it is not as refined as the PC9.
  18. I have a KelTec sub 2k, not only does it take the same round as my Glock, it takes the same magazines and as a bonus it folds in half and fits into s laptop case.
  19. Last time I mixed Canadians w Crown Royal was when I was in the 82nd. A Canadian Para, Jim B. who I had run into previously in Belgium and Turkey showed up at Bragg as part of an exchange. Long story short, his ration of Crown was imbibed, rappelling out of the third floor ensued, MPs were summoned and when I woke up the next day there were footprints on my ceiling.
  20. I actually like you, a lot. Even though we have our differences, politically, I think you are a stand up guy and I would invite you into my home any day. (As long as you would share some of your wine)
  21. I wasn’t being jerky, I was actually giving some proper advice. BTW w my AR-15 or my 6.5cm RPR, I could have all of your booty if the notion took me. A shotgun doesn’t do much past a hundred yards. RPR, 1000 yards, three for three on a 12 inch gong, 3A03387C-A6FC-4E32-95BA-6111A3AF1B40.MOV
  22. To get back on topic, one should have at least one month of food on hand. Rice, beans and vegetable oil, canned meats, peanut butter, crackers w a vitamin supplement is a good, low cost start. A reliable source of water, a means to cook and heat (a few cords of wood and/or a few hundred gallons of propane. For the luxury minded, a generator and a few hundred gallons of fuel, (A solar panel or two would not be out of order, but don’t tell BillV). And of course one needs to have the means to protect all of that.
  23. HRC said, “Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances” https://www.politico.com/news/2020/08/25/hillary-clinton-joe-biden-election-advice-401641
