I think that this is the main answer with people not wanting to post jump numbers, but I don't think that people recognize themselves as either a "know-it-all" or a "don't know shit". For the record, I think new skydivers ARE able to ask questions without getting attacked for being a "newbie". It seems that people are "attacked" as not knowing anything, generally, (not always) when the newbie appears to not want to recognize themselves as being a "newbie". There are some people who seem to have a difficult time seeing themselves as being under-experienced in anything. Also, I agree with Ron that some (maybe many or most) skydivers think of themselves as better than the norm or "special". The more experienced skydivers have seen this attitude often end in disaster, thus the strict warnings against this way of thinking. As a new skydiver, I am not offended by the comments of the more experienced skydivers that newbies are not experienced enough to give instructional skydiving advice to new skydivers. If people are not humble and open to learning, then true progression is difficult. People can first listen to advice with open minds as a "grasshopper" and then make their own decisions from there. One day, after much experience, us newbies will become the "experienced" skydivers, and we, too, can teach the newbies. Why rush it? Btw, this post is not written about or to anyone in particular, so I hope that nobody takes offense to it.

Btw, I live nowhere near La Mirada. I don't even know where that is...sounds scary, too. Thursday...perhaps. I'll call you.

What about Mel's awesome BF, Jason? He's soooo amazing. He and I saw each other yesterday at Perris as soon as I walked onto the DZ...sooo cool! I also saw a video of the final headdown bigway jump on Sunday. (Jason was part of the base on that one!) Those guys looked sooo amazing. My heart was bursting just watching the video...looked like such hard work!!! I just happened to be in the room with some of my RW friends watching their tunnel tape when the bigway guys came in. Wow, those guys & girls are so talented...whew! Mel, you must be so proud of J*!!! I can hardly wait to see Mel, Alli, and Denise too, in a few days.

I was at Perris on Sunday. I wish that I had known who you were, so that I could have said "hello". Sadly, I was landing like a complete moron on my new-to-me canopy (just downsized and mentally screwing myself). I should have just worked on my canopy skills, instead of 4-ways with new friends. (I'm taking a canopy control class later on in the week. YAY!!!) Anyway, I'm sorry that you felt upset by this, but I have NEVER experienced anything like that at Perris. In my experience, the truck driver(s) at Perris have always been VERY careful when picking us up. They are fast getting to us, but they are always quite safe. I LOVE the way that they take care of us....no matter what. It sounds like you were away from traffic because of where you were landing, therefore, I am confused by the two sentences in bold. Maybe you felt that he was too close for YOUR comfort. Did you talk with him or anyone else at Perris about this, since you felt so uncomfortable with the situation? Perhaps that would have been your "solution". Anyway, I hope that you come back and jump at Perris (or Elsinore...just over the hill), again!

YOU'RE KILLING ME!!!!!!!! The ironic and scary part is that my purity score was lower than yours. Btw, I don't do drugs or steal or cheat...yes, my purity score is mostly based on hetero monogamous, yet pretty hot (imo) sex. So, although I have not heard these "terms"...it seems that I am having or have had less "pure" sex than you.
