Hmmm...I will answer from my viewpoint... How is that different from any other thread and the debates that occur there? I don't believe that I've been reading pages of "shit". Just because you disagree with a poster, doesn't mean that his posts are "shit". Again, disagreed by myself and many others, especially newer skydivers, I can guarantee you that. I am not a mindless follower either. I never have been because I actually READ everyone's answers and analyze the answers myself. Just because someone is saying something in a way that some people may or may not find offensive, it doesn't make their statements any less valid. We have all had instructors/professors whom we hated, but we still had to listen to and learn from their knowledge in the classroom. Therefore, if I read something that someone posts and it makes sense, I don't care if the poster is the most arrogant SOB walking the earth...I will listen the next time that he/she offers advice. Btw, I was not referring to Ron, he seems fine to me...maybe just a little stubborn with his viewpoints, which many people here are guilty of. At least, his viewpoints come from many years of experience and/or knowledge, unlike others.

You make a VERY good point about protection, April, but I think that you are misunderstanding people's reactions. For instance, I have only had monogamous sex with committed partners (whom I trusted and still do) in majorly serious relationships, but, YES, even I ask to see papers showing proof that this person was recently tested and tested negative for HIV (as well as negative for VDs) before having sex or oral sex with him. I talk to the person about his sexual history and ask to see test results ALWAYS because I am very serious about this kind of thing. I am never immediately intimate with a person...NEVER. That is why "dental dams" are new to me, not because I am not careful or casual...quite the opposite. If I know that I am going to be intimate with someone, well...I MUST find out his sexual history. Period. Smugness, huh? April, after finding out someone's sexual history and all, would you really not trust that someone, whom you have had a loving, committed relationship with for 5 years, to be faithful to you? Would you honestly still be using a "dental dam" in a situation like that? Why is trusting your significant other classified as being "smug"?

You are speaking to us based on your experience, and I appreciate that. Trust me, I always make up my mind to do what I think is best based on ALL the answers that I get to certain questions that I may have. I do think that as a new skydiver, I have to first be open-minded to learning from experienced jumpers and experiencing certain situations myself before I can claim to know all the answers. I have never spoken to Sunny on the phone...yet. We've only exchanged PMs every so often. She calls me "chica" most of the time and is very, very sweet and kind. Jesus...I have never been slammed by Ron, I don't think. Have I missed out on this rite of passage? Lol. As a matter of fact, I think that Ron once even answered questions and PMed a very helpful response to a tunnel question before I ever went. Seriously, I do not remember having a problem when asking a question as a newbie online or in person. I have had countless helpful PMs in response to any questions that have ever arisen for me. Nobody ever made me feel stupid or told me to shut up. I was often encouraged to ask for more help anytime.

I have taken a freefly tunnel camp with Juliana and Fabian where I learned to sitfly and back fly (which I LOVED), but I cannot do this in the sky with my rig, yet. It doesn't fit me well enough (or at all) in the leg and lateral straps. With my small body size, I also need to downsize my canopy some more before getting a rig that will be freefly worthy and fit correctly. I just downsized to a 135...I wear weights (15 lbs.), but I am still just under 1:1. Also, I seriously STILL completely prefer belly to sitflying...in the tunnel, anyway.
