this may be completely stupid and it probably is but i was wondering if it would be posible to land with a BM suit having not opened you canopy, into water or something. from reading other posts it seems as some people can get down the mid 40's in mph. if you were to hit water at that speed would you be alright????
i was wondeing how useful a helmet really is. apart from keeping your head warm i cant see how one will help if your falling from 10,000+ at over 120 mph into the floor - your head will be mashed up pretty bad either way, wont it?
as far as i can see america is not gonna be able to get much oil buyt there are hug benefits for them
they will have a loyal stronghold in the middle east - a base for further military operations and generally support in the most west-hating part of the world
there will also be massive contracts for american companies to rebuild iraq - and it just so happens to be that the major contract has gone to the one that dick cheney is chairman of (or holds a high position in it)
im not saying this wont happen in north korea but realistically why would you try and attack someone that says they have nukes and are prepared to use them on their own land (even though sadam poisoned his own people) also if NK used nukes Usa would retaliate with them and we would probably end up in world war three. it seems like the same situation in teh cold war (even though i dont remeber it at all as im 16) with mutually assured destrucition i.e. they both have the power for a first strike but could not do enough damage to stop the opposition and therefore the world being plunged into nuclear war
its true what everyone has said. from reading around the forums everybody here seems to genuinly care about others and the whole community feel is great. i cant think of anything else that has the same sense of togethernees and even though i havent started jumping yet, reading whats up here and all over the net just make me more and more eager to go.

hi- im completely new to this and i ahvent even jumped yet. i really want to start but am not really sure where to begin and have a couple of questions.
is it worth doing a tandem jump first? and also there seem to be various different prices for doing an AFF course. most seem to be aobut £1500 but i saw one for less than $1000 which is about £650. if any one could point me in teh right direction and knows of a good dropzone near london in the UK that would be really great
cheers
