  1. Just thought I would give everybody a quick update, since I haven't posted anything for a while! Today, Eric is having (hopefully his last) major surgery! They are finally going to do the skin grafts to close his abdomen and they are going to take a bone graft from his pelvis to use on his left tib/fib to close the gap in the compound break! He was really nervous last night and needs good vibes! Also to let everyone know Eric has been off all IV's and other tubes for a couple weeks now! PT has had him sitting up...and we've been able to smuggle food into him so hopefully we can get some weight back on that boy!!! So, if I could ask one more time...please say a little prayer for him today! Laurie P.S. He's been truly overwhelmed by all the love & support he's received...and wanted me to thank everyone for him!
  2. Bytch, you can't go!!! How 'bout you stay here and you can be my jump bytch...I'll just have trade Dominic in for you
  3. Very funny!! You know mouth & I will be there!!! I'll even buy you an extra jump & beer!!! I'm still in denial that you're leaving though!
  4. I apologize for the lack of postings...life has been crazy for me! Eric is indeed on the road to recovery!!! Yesterday he had his 5th surgery (I believe there are still atleast 2 more)...it was a skin/muscle graft surgery for his left tib/fib! The surgery was 5hrs and he only lost 40cc of blood which is awesome! He's been moved out of CCU to PCU (Progressive Care Unit) but is still in isolation...due to high risk of infection! He's awake and coherent...talking and bossing people around
  5. Eric is not out of CCU yet! He's doing much better! He's off the vent and talking (and not delusional either). A couple of days ago we even discussed the "accident". Today they may even take the feeding tube out!! But he's still fighting a couple infections and a bout of pneumonia. He's still not allowed visitors because of the high risk of infection! I'm still visiting him every day (per his family's request), so if you would like any messages passed along just let me know. Thank you to everyone for understanding and I promise I will let you know when you may visit!!
  6. Hey Lisa! You know I'll be there!!! I'm gonna miss my drinking buddy! I'm just going to have to make it to Florida so you can buy me a beer!!!
  7. Hey Dom, I love you too and it's just a joke!!! I have no problem with the ghetto!!! The whole joke kind of goes with the nickname I've acquired...
  8. I know I tried to get them to carry me from my car to Tony's but they thought it was quite hysterical to finally get me to step in the ghetto. My shoes that touched that dirt will never be the same . As far as the FIRST time...like I wouldn't buy you more beer anyway!
  9. Thanks a lot!!!! It was a lot of fun!!! It was real fun watching Dom lose the marlin ! The only reason I was quite on the way home is because I was thinking 'bout the fact I had to step foot in the ghetto again You two aren't so bad to put up with!! I would definitely do it again...but next time lets get the darn fish to the boat!
  10. Latest update...Good News, Bad News Today (this afternoon), Eric is having surgery to finish closing up his abdomen! This is good news! As for the bad news, he's got a staph infection It's treatable but it's just going to be really hard for his body to fight it! So, once again Eric needs some good vibes and prayers!
  11. Hey Mouth, I tried calling you before posting this, so don't be mad... Eric is awake and talking!!!! I just spoke with his sister, and he's talking 90mph...making up for the last 19 days!!!
  12. As the saying goes..."Save a horse, Ride a Cowboy!"
  13. I just wanted to let everybody know that Eric is having his surgery today around 7:30am PDT...it should be a 6 to 7 hour surgery. So, please say a prayer for him today! The surgery is to continue repairing his abdomen and if he's doing well enough they are going to work on his femur and begin reconstruction of his right foot. Wednesday and yesterday, they began waking him up a little. He was opening his eyes but unable to talk because he's still on a ventilator. His numbers are doing great! His oxygen was down to 25% (normal is 21%)! Which means that if things continue to progress, he'll be off the vent very soon! I will let everybody know when he's out of surgery! Send vibes...he's going to need them...it's going to be a long day!
  14. Eric's oxygen is down to 35% and all the numbers are greatly improving!!! His back was never broken but there was concern of spinal injury...the dr's thought there may have been a fractured vertebrae but that proved to be fine also! A quote from one of the many dr's is "that he's going to be fine". (Which are the best words that I think I've ever heard) His right foot is going to be reconstructed. The surgery on Thursday or Friday is to finish closing up his abdomen and if he's doing well enough they will attempt to work on his legs. It will be a 6 to 7 hour surgery... So, tomorrow I ask everyone to just say a little prayer, it's going to be along day!
  15. Eric's surgery went well, they were able to close the incision that they made last Saturday. Although, they will need to do another in approx. 2 weeks. They still haven't been able to do anything with his femur...because they can't have him in surgery for such an extended period of time. His family wanted me to thank everyone for their support...and as soon as he's out of ICU they will allow visitors...
  16. Update...The dr. has bumped up his oxygen to 50% in preparation for the surgery. So he should be going in soon... Good Vibes!!!
  17. Just to keep everybody up to date...there's really been no change in Eric's condition, he's stable! But today he needs those prayers and vibes, he's going to be going through a pretty intensive surgery! The docotors are going to attempt to close the incision that they made in his abdomen on Saturday and do some repair work to his legs! I will let everybody know how he's doing as soon as I can! So, please keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer! Also, his family asked that I thank everyone for their support!!! And for those that have contacted me about making donations, his family is still thinking on that one...
  18. Hey Dom, I did hear you volunteer to share rent with him for his small trailer to stay at the dz, hmmmmm????
  19. Ok here's the latest...He's stable and his vitals are good, and he's still at 40% oxygen!!! The next surgery is still scheduled for tomorrow...I will let everybody know how that goes! Keep sending those prayers and vibes, especially tomorrow when he goes into surgery!
  20. WOW! I am speechless (I know, hard to do!) Thank you, but in no way am I a hero! Simply a friend! I have only done what I would hope someone would do if it were me. I love my friends and am a true believer that friends are our chosen family! I am lucky and honored to have you as my friend!
  21. Hey guys! Actually his room # is 2025. He's on the second floor in the Adult ICU. He had a great day yesterday...and as soon as I talk to his sister, I'll post another update!
  22. I'm on my way to the hospital now...I will be calling Lisa (Mouth) in a little bit and hopefully she'll be posting some really good news!
