As a rule can I say the bigger the canopy the longer it takes to open? I know how you pack has a lot to do with it. I am thinking my reserve might be to small for me, (Techo 155 my exit weight 200lbs I havent used it ). But I wouldnt want to forfeit opening time for a slower canopy. what does anyone think.

sorry for asking and maybe someone with more experience will put me straight.... as you are still a student: why were you using "demo" gear? note: originaly asked why own pack job, but edited it out as stupid question!!!

I would offer to pay them in installments or not at all and they will except a payment plan!!! That way you can still buy your book of 10 and they get their money...eventually.

Thats the place, busy isnt the word. I have made lots of new friends that has kept me going. And hopefully I am just at the beginning of my journey. Hope to travel more, been to Portugal (algarve) earlier in the year. Try and get to the states next year. Thats the place to go I hear?!! -

Hello there everyone. I have been skydiving about a year, did AFF in spain, paid for my girlfriend to do it at the same time. I got the bug she didnt. We were together 6 years in July, we have now split. Such is life. Be safe everyone and I look forward to more flamings in the future. -
i havent seen it before and i dont search through old threads to look at stuff unless its for educational purposes. so thanks for sharing.

I would take the risk, if you have two arms and two legs and find yourself out of work you can always do a job just to pay the bills for the short term. Risk it and reap the rewards, play it safe and have regrets. -
I know check handles at 1000ft has been said and protect handles. I always check handles as I am about to move into the door and my toggle/hackey sack.

Good point, I didnt know about flat turns. I thought a very slow one toggle turn was a flat turn. I now have my leg in plaster broke my heel. I will be using rental gear for a bit when I go back and practice flat turns over and over. I got blew off course on my final leg, which normally I would follow the new direction, but I was now facing trees. I had no choice but to turn. I turned very slowly keeping canopy level and when I finished the ground was THERE and I didnt have time to flare.

Why is it you have to try and be patronising? is it to justify your beliefs to yourself or to have the last word? I get "it". Thats not what I am saying, I am saying my belief is that its wrong for the general public in residential, built up, high crime areas to have guns at home.

Anyway, I dont know how I ended up on this I am not usually the one to stand and be counted. I hope you see my point, believe me when I say I do see yours. I just think there are better ways to stop crime. Take it easy, be safe. Later.

I am not saying that you dont have the right to defend yourself, or if the situation is kill or be killed lay down. I am the last person to turn the other cheek. If I find someone in my garden they are getting a beating. What I am saying is the more people that have guns the more people will buy guns. The more people that have guns the more they will be used. The power you feel when you hold a gun is exhilarating , it is no doubt you want to use them. BUT that is the problem you (not you personally) want to use them.

You know nothing about me, never make assumptions I am more than qualified to make an opinion. I have been involved in, been on the receiving end of violent crime. I have been involved with people who own and have used guns. I have been threatened with guns. I am not some posh cunt who hasnt seen anything of life. I have seen enough of life to make me want to go and live on my own in a field somewhere. I believe I have learnt and moved forward from my life experiences. The sooner people realise you cannot fight fire with fire the better. You are all full of shit. Move house if you are so worried and are living in fear. Work at building a better community rather than hump in the sandbags and build your gun turrets.

I cannot believe what i am reading. Its a vicious circle with you people, burglars carry guns so I keep one. The victim has I gun so i will carry one. What the fuck!!! What happened to good home security and a baseball bat? People are becoming more trigger happy over here and its thanks to your gun culture over there. Its seen as glamorous or something. I would rather beat shit out of a burglar and get him locked up, rather than do time for murder. Hear what your saying about the Police its the same here. But come on your not judge and jury.
