DING DING WE have a winner!! You see a problem! Excellent - now you know what kind of jumper you need to be!! I had some of those struggles too - it bugs me when I see the 200-500 jump wonders not jumping with low-timers or those they don't think are as good as them in the air - it a shame isn't it. Chris N. wrote a really interesting "capital commentary" in this month's edition of The parachutist - he gave a list of some things we need to do to keep this sport growing - Just don't become on of those guys yourself, and you'll be one hell of a jumper

No Jumping for me tomorrow - the weather is a happy mix of snow and freezing rain - So I'll dedicate tomorrow to studying and lapsing in and out of consciousness. I got invited to a neat little party in the evening - but it'll probably be pretty tame and be done before midnight. =========Shaun ==========

I love jumping - there was a period after 400 some jumps that I couldn't jump for a season or two - it was hard looking up at the sky on beautiful sunday afternoon and thinking "gee, in Kansas, it's saturday evening - I wonder how the day of jumping was?". I love jumping - I love the gear, and I love parachutes. I think I'm just as happy packing parachutes as I am jumping them. so intriguing. You know how much I love skydiving?!!? I love it so much I vowed never to date a jumper. yeah - that's right. Last thing I need on a jump day is drama or distractions. Jump, land, pack, pack for other people, pack until I feel like jumping again. None of this drama crap. "Audios Toots, I'll see ya when I'm done jumping!" =========Shaun ==========

YES!!! I knew ever since I was little that I was going to be a Skydiver - it was never a question. When I was little (maybe up to15 years old) I was obsessed with parachutes. All sorts of designs - usually made out of Garbage bags, strings, and whatever sort of weight I could find around. I got pretty good at it too - I won the Boy Scouts Egg drop contest for Kansas when I was 14 with a self-deploying container they tossed out of a chopper - A 6-foot long flag acted like a Pilot chute and deployed a main made out of string and a trashbag - hell, it worked. All sorts of different experiments I designed and tossed off the local dam face - most worked, some sent stuffed animals or weights to their deaths. When I was about 10 years old - My dad took me to a Local DZ (where I jump now) to watch the jumpers - it was a really great experience and from then on I wanted to jump. I even put on a rig and had my picture taken - I started jumping in High school the day after I turned 18. My parents only remark was "what the hell took you so long?" I did okay - I had my own rig and a coach rating by the time I graduated High school. People always asked me at WFFC what my white bracelet was - underaged skydiver.... They were just jealous. =========Shaun ==========

Anybody have any spammer friends? Is there good money is doing this - is it effective marketing? I can't imagine that it is - but people still keep doing it - which makes me think that somehow it MUST be worth their time.... =========Shaun ==========

I am posting this because my attempts to call up that direction have been futile for the last week or so - I'm in Kansas - and we have a severe lack of turbine aircraft (pretty much a midwest thing) and so I am thinking about hopping in the car for a weekend at Paradise Skydives in Iowa - but I don't have any information other than what is on the website - any paradise homegrowns or jumpers I can ask? =========Shaun ==========
