    I can understand removing them so that they don't bite/sting someone. I can even understand killing them with a boot. But forcing them to attack and kill each other is strictly becuase someone wants to be entertained. Some might call me a hypocrite because I would kill them and still say this forcing them to battle is wrong, and maybe I am, but I just don't like it.

    It's ok. Don't be ashamed. I was just making a point. I guess I just don't agree with this whole "battle to the death" scenerio. I mean, I am not in PITA or an activist, and I certaily understand that we as humans have to kill animals to live comfortably. Although I am sure not everyone will agree. But, I just think that killing a spider or a scorpion instantly with a boot is a better choice. It is all about perception. I doubt many people would view putting two stray dogs in a room to battle to the death as "entertainment," but some actually do. So, if you are going to put three live things in a tub and force them to inflict pain and death on each other, atleast let nature use it's weapons.

    Definitely agree. I have really never felt particularly welcome or comfortable in certain areas of the west and southwest. But that could just be because I am from the east coast and grew up here.

    Well, I am not saying it is "nature," since they have all been put into a plastic tub so that people can be entertained, but if you are truly going to see who wins, then let them atleast have a fair shake. The black widow will be smarter than the scorpion and probably not engage it like the younger one did. Instead, she will make a web, both to protect herself and to catch the scorpion. If you are going to mess around with their God-given defenses, you might as well clip the stinger off the scorpion too, just to make it a more "fair" fight.

    I am not far behind you on this one. I don't claim to be a perfect speller, but I am pretty anal about checking words I am not sure about. I think, overall, I am pretty good at spelling and grammar, but when someone is just really bad at one or the other, or both, it irritates me. My pet peeve is the misuse of the word, "you're." I see "your" used where "you're" should be, WAY too much!
