I'll look for that PM!
-
But if you bring Kim with ya, I may make it 2 days of coaching for ya!
-
Just open arms, my friend. But I am not going to kiss you, so stop asking!
-
You just have to be in the US sometime in 2006.

PM me with your skydiving goals for 2006, tell me about your last season and why you would want a free day of coaching. All you are responsible for are your jump tickets. You have to come to a dropzone that I agree to meeting you at, most likely in the northeast, but not limited to that. It has to be a day that fits my schedule. We can use the entire 2006 skydivng season to make a date and dz work. Other than that, the rules of this are wide open! But I am making them! Free day of coaching is there for the taking. You just have to come get it. Deadline for PMs is 12-16-05. I will narrow it down through PMs with potential winners and pick the winner by 1-1-06. My New Year's resolution is going to be to give back more than ever to this sport for 2006, and this is how I am going to start. I hope someone wants to take advantage! Good Luck!

Straight-In Velocity landings

Then why the heck did you bother to post here, a public discussion forum, in the first place? And why did you address your post to "all" and say "I would really like to hear from people" and "what do you guys think?" and "Thanks everyone" ???? You could have saved us all alot of time and effort by posting "What do *highly* experienced canopy pilots think of hook turns or lack thereof? Please do not add your comments unless you are *highly* experienced." Or better yet, not posted at all in a public discussion forum if you only wanted to ask certain *highly* experienced people, and are obviously not interested in what anyone other than Brian Germain or *highly* experienced canopy pilots think. Next time you would like to post on a public discussion forum and get people's opinions and thoughts on something, please do so. But if you only want to hear from certain people and "don't care what others think," then don't waste our time! -

Well, guess I am just an idiot then, cuz I don't get it. You make a post on a public forum and ask for comments and ask "What do you guys think?" Then you make coments like "I don't need your reassurance" when someone agrees with you, or "I don't care what you say" if they don't. Then you say you aren't trying to be rude when you insinuate I have "no clue" and "what you have heard about dz.com is true." All I have done is try to give my opinions and I HAVE posted answers to your characteristics questions. I have a slightly different way of looking at things and you and another poster or two just completely dismiss my opinion as I am not worth listening too. That's a pretty bad attitude. Next time you make a post asking for comments and what we think, please put a disclaimer that you only want comments that are exactly inline with your line of thinking. Forgive me for not being a mindreader and not knowing EXACTLY what you wanted to hear. I tried to help by entering into your discussion, that's all. Good luck with your canopy flight and be safe. -
I would say between $100 and $150.

Straight-In Velocity landings

Ok. Forget I posted. I didn't think I was doing anything but offering my insight into what your original post was about. Certainly wasn't trying to act like you need my permission to jump a canopy. Was just trying to help by offering my opinion and insight, but apparently I totally missed what the point of your post was or something. By this statement: "I would really like to hear from people. So what do you guys think?" I could have swore you were asking for comments. Maybe you should just have emailed Brian Germain. -

I thought it was a pretty good discussion too, but I think I may have given SOME advice. But what the hell do I know? Better leave the advice giving to the obviously seasoned, much more experienced veterns! -
Guys posting boobs and skydiving chicks posting their OWN boobs, are two different things! I vote for THIS thread!
-
You are more than welcome.
-
Not to worry. As far as your intellect and cleverness, you will ALWAYS be thought of as a newbie.

From my first post: "Personally, for me, on my Velocity 96 loaded at about 2.2, I like to get my profile down by tucking my knees up and together, slider pulled down and chest strap wide like always, and use the half brakes range. I vary the input from there depending on conditions and how it feels. I like to watch the ground below me to see how fast I am making progress while watching other canopies to compare rate of descent as well as horizontal speed."

A counterpoint IS a defense.
-
Oh, well then, my bad. I didn't realize it was a fairly common thing. This isn't a college debate class where people try to act smart. It's a simple point that alot of smokers are careless about littering and how disgusting it is. If you want to start a thread about something else that people do that is careless, then have at it. I agree with you that we all do things that have a bad effect on the world, but defending the act of throwing your butts on the ground is ridiculous.
-
You are trying WAY too hard!
-
Dude, she posted her tits, I don't think you need to act like you weren't looking.

Straight-In Velocity landings
ccowden replied to somethingbitme's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
No. I would not say that there is any danger from lack of speed. My biggest concern is that you may get into a situation that was not expected or make a mistake, where not having a full understanding of what the Velocity will do, where it could really bite you. Like I said, good intentions are not enough to keep us safe with canopy flight. -
my 2 cents Okay now Im getting confused? How 'bout that for annoying ... Oh, and IBTL. howd you do that, that was cool and annoying me like What she said What did she say? I said I liked it, that it was annoying but I like Ohhhhh! Got it!
