  1. ....interestingly enough, somewhere around 50 jumps, i was breaking in my canopy/container system and i remember maybe 2x i threw out and there was a brief delay before the bag extracted the container. how many jumps did you have on the equipment? i haven't had the problem in a long time and i've always packed the same every time but.... ....the other guy said it right.....it's a serious problem waiting to happen. i still ponder it often....unless anyone has a solution?
  2. ummm, if we're talking student training....despite the costs....there is no substitute for wind tunnel flying. i payed 100 bucks or so for the wind tunnel and pigeon forge TN and i blazed through AFF in 7 jumps. it's difficult to balance on the wind tunnel wind at first but if you have a "coach" there, you will learn alot. blue ones!!!! "dude, where's my main?"
  3. copy that everybody....i'm convinced by the story. better to live to skydive another day. freefly friendly.... "dude, where's my main?"
  4. has anyone ever cocked their pilot chute and double checked their equipment and still had a pilot chute in tow? "i know nothing" but.... ever since i was a student, i was taught to cut-a-way and pull my reserve so that's what i would do. being a high speed and cooking through 1500' would speed up my actions appropriately. blue ones!!!! "dude, where's my main?"
  5. i can relate dude....stuck toggles down to 1800' and was just about to chop and cleared it. sometimes i wonder if i would have hung onto that bad canopy....still gives me nightmares (and i mean after 2 years now). thanks for the post and the advice. glad we're still here to jump safe
  6. exits have got to be the best part....when i freefly i end up doing some wild ass summersault out the door and get stable into a sit or something....PURE FUN!!! still, the next favorite part for me is a stable open canopy above 2,000'. blue ones!
  7. Right on bro....Enjoy. Remember the skydiver's learning curve. It spikes up to vertical....then OUCH....then it dives and you take a break....then it gradually climbs. Take you time....trust me.
  8. Hi, I'm a D licensed skydiver with 205 jumps. All are on a PD Spectre 150. I'd like a canopy with a little more zip on landing to nail out some nice performance and surfs. Is a Stilleto at bad idea? How are the opennings? Tell me your story; what do you all think? Thanks "dude, where's my main?"
