Were you there? You just keep tuned into CNN and soaking up all their bullshit.

It damn sure is if they attack us, especially on our own soil. I don’t believe that was exactly what he said but I also don’t believe it is extreme seeing as how most people in the world believe in the existence of a supreme God. I personally think it’s very smart, under these circumstances, to seek the guidance of God.

I thought it was, “obedience to the will of God, submission, humbling one’s self, resigning one’s self to the divine disposal.

So does the President. We've been over the whole "he based his ultimate decision on the best intelligence we, and others, had at the time" thing many times already. Any other President has to rely on our intel sources as well (what we've got at the time; whether good in reference to completeness and reliability or not so good). There's no doubt that there was an intelligence problem prior to 9-11. I have no idea why we need a commission to determine that.

I’ve had experience on the ground dealing with the countries in the region you’ve mentioned. You obviously don’t understand the nature of this kind of war. We needed those countries to stage out of since we couldn’t get Pakistan. Sometimes, you’ve got to get out there, get dirty, and deal with less than admirable people in order to accomplish your objectives. Certainly, there are evil and corrupt leaders of countries in other places but the fact that Saddam Hussein was a brutal, corrupt, and murdering, dictator is just one of the reasons for going to war with Iraq. There were many others. You have proof, of course, that he didn’t give aid, comfort, money, weapons, etc. to Al-Qaida?... You’re aware that money (from drugs and such) and weapons supporting the terrorist efforts of Al-Qaida and others gets filtered through other countries and not just the one that UBL happens to be in at the time, right? You are also aware that there are many smaller terrorist groups/networks affiliated with Al-Qaida and, therefore, with UBL? I don’t really feel the need to respond to most of these ludicrous reasons because I feel that they appear as such to most people already. I do take offense to the “Afghanistan was a failure” quote, however. Once again, you demonstrate “not taking the whole issue into perspective.” No, we don’t have UBL. We have eliminated the “headquarters” of Al-Qaida, however, and that is extremely important. We’ve capture or killed most of their command structure. We’ve got them on the run and are denying them open mobility and operations in the region. We’re also fighting them over there and not here (i.e. took the fight to the enemy). We’ve also got Afghanistan on the way to becoming a functioning democratic society. I’d call those major successes!

Thanks for stepping up to the plate and offering yourself as an example of one of those persons I was trying to describe. Certainly, you don't really (I mean...really ) believe that WMD was the sole purpose for going into Iraq...
-
Whatever... The effect that your action will pose to civilians is always part of mission planning and risk assessment. It is not the intent of American troops to kill civilians. But to be as naive as to think that civilians won't get killed in war no matter how sophisticated your weaponry is, is asinine.

That guy is so freakin' cool!!!
-
No, their primary purpose is to KILL as efficiently as possible.

More probably will. As many as it takes to complete the objective. You say that as if the whole thing was a mistake and that we have to pursue damage control to make up for it. Over half of the American public disagrees with you and we think it was, in fact, necessary for many reasons other than WMD. Not to look at ALL the details/reasons is not to take the whole problem in perspective. The Democrats use “WMD” alone to drive their agenda into the minds of the uneducated masses. You’re pointing out what should be obvious. It isn’t, however, to much of an American public that has been so detached from the realities of war for such a long time. Even in the wake of something as tragic as 9-11, they keep on living their lives in ignorant bliss and quake at gruesome pictures that disturb their happiness and take away from their party. What? Do you think their all flown out at night? Do you really think some are flown out at night to hide their numbers? Do you think their funerals are private and hidden from the press? Must be that “vast right wing conspiracy theory” again. IMO, much of the American public is, in fact, too weak hearted and naive. Thank God that the majority of us, however, have the grit and gumption to see through what has to be done. I personally believe theirs is a just cause and that those boxes are filled with heroes that did their duty. TAKING THE FIGHT TO THE ENEMY. “De Oppresso Liber” God bless them all.

What a great article...so true.

She could come play for the Atlanta Falcons...

They can’t show that kind of reality TV although they should. They should still show people having to jump from the twin towers in order to escape death by fire. It should still burn in the hearts of Americans and they should be furious. Americans are so weak hearted and naïve! It makes me sick to my stomach. Our country is at war and has been since 9-11. In war, people die. Sometimes, those casualties are civilians. It's always been that way. Technology, as good as we've made it, isn't perfect and cannot prevent that. Those soldiers/marines in those boxes knew it. The guys over there right now know it. Don't dishonor them by insinuating that they died for nothing. Don't dishonor them with weak responses to pictures of coffins. I served in Enduring Freedom and lost a friend who came back in one of those. Those were brave soldiers/marines who fought and died for the cause of freedom and security. Because of them, those Americans mentioned above can continue to live their sheltered lives and continue to criticize the ones who paid the price for it. Shameful but true.

Reluctantly crouched at the starting line Engines pumping and thumping in time The green light flashes, the flags go up Churning and burning they yearn for the cup They deftly manuver and muscle for rank Fuels burning fast on an empty tank Reckless and wild, they pour through the turns Their prowess is potent and secretly stern As they speed through the finish, the flags go down The fans get up and they get out of town The arena is empty except for one man Still driving and striving as fast as he can The sun has gone down and the moon has come up Not long ago somebody left with the cup But he's driving and striving an hugging the turns And thinking of someone for who he still burns He's going the distance He's going for speed She's all alone, all alone, all alone in a time of need Because he's racing and pacing and plotting the course He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse He's going the distance No trophies, no flowers, no flashbulbs, no lime He's haunted by something he cannot define Bowel shaking earthquakes of doubt and remorse Assail him and bail him with monster truck force In his mind he's still driving, still making the grade She's hoping in time that her memories will fade 'Cause he's racing and pacing and plotting the course He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse The sun has gone down and the moon has come up Not long ago somebody left with the cup But he's striving and driving and hugging the turns And thinking of someone for who he still burns 'Cause he's going the distance, He's going for speed She's all alone All alone All alone In a time of need Because he's racing and pacing and plotting the course He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse He's racing and pacing and plotting the course He's fighting and biting and ridding on his horse He's going the distance He's going for speed He's going the distance

GWB isn't half the public speaker his Dad was who wasn't half the public speaker Ronald Reagan was (as far as Republicans go). I believe his sincerity, however, and I believe it when he says that he's committed to the betterment and security of the country. His opponent, on the other hand, doesn't hold my trust. You've got to demonstrate consistency in order to gain my trust. Kerry has most definitely not. The decision, in my mind, is still very clear. There's more to being president than putting on a pretty face and being able to feed B.S. to the liberal press. But it helps, of course.

Necessary in our current state of war. Cult? What does it cost you? I'm sure they aren't mandatory. He's just a religious person in a political office. You don't believe in the Government being aloud to keep secrets in the name of National Security? Founded on Christian principals. I'm sure you would try and exert your influence as an Atheist if you were in office. Yes...with anything credible.

You said it well. I agree. You can't take a real hands-on proactive approach in teaching your student unless you are as close to them as possible throughout the entire jump (including landing). Hanging a radio around their neck and trying to teach from a distance in order that their "student jump" not interfere with your fun activity won't cut it. If you are instructing, the student should be your primary concern throughout.

The selections were limited. Skydiving = ~5 times a day. Sex = every 5 minutes. I love skydiving but...really...

At least he's qualified.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Just don't go work for the ACLU when you finish.

I know that one's already been played out. Not soliciting responses. Just thought I'd restate since she's testifying now before the 9-11 Commission. Scary!
