More mass carrings - Need more car laws
olofscience replied to turtlespeed's topic in Speakers Corner
You sound like a toddler caught in the driver's seat of an articulated lorry. If you were qualified to have a weapon, you'd have nothing to fear. But it looks like you need weapons as a crutch for more deep-seated psychological issues. -
You seem to not know anything about the mathematics of probability, nor the rules of logic. You can't prove a negative, and there are an infinite number of possibilities with an infinitesimal probability.
-
I didn't say anything like that. Why are you making things up?
-
The one not understanding is you...and you still can't see it. Reminds me of the saying: "Remember, when you are dead, you do not know you are dead. It is only painful for others. The same applies when you are stupid." In any case I also live in a 15-minute city, and it rocks. The conspiracy theories about them are bizarre.
-
You're arguing against a completely different point...I was trying to explain - never mind. ANYWAY, you are right that crime is more concentrated in cities. Cities are MORE likely to be democrat. 1) they have younger populations 2) they are more likely to be more educated and skilled 3) also because of more and more varied interactions with people Cities are MORE likely to have poor areas, because in general they're a LOT cheaper to live in compared to rural. However it looks like you've never done a single study that had to control for various variables, so you're doing all your brain could handle comfortably, one variable - democrats BAD. What happened to you? I seem to remember you were sharper than this 4 years ago. Did you get long COVID?
-
You didn't get the point - they meant that these cities had no choice but to follow their red states' lack of gun laws. Doesn't matter whether the cities are democrat controlled since they can't do anything about the state law they are in.

More mass carrings - Need more car laws

You already need a license to drive a car. In the US you don't need a license to own a gun. In Germany, getting a driving license is much more difficult than in the US A car's primary use is transportation, not killing. What's a gun's primary use? Finally, this guy seems to be far-right (AfD supporter). Elon supports the AfD. ONE attack with a car recently. How many mass shootings in the US so far? You seem to be very bad with numbers. Like, basic counting... -
That's why have to keep making things up. They don't realise it tells you more about them than anything about you.
-
You missed out the fact that like you, jaybird started it by completely making shit up because he was losing the argument about the actual topic badly Brent, losing argument: "olof lives in his mother's basement!" Jaybird, losing argument: "SkyDekker is low T, takes Meth, wears spandex!" So much for someone who deals with "facts"
-
I've also seen it dozens of times here, they think they're in the lead in an argument, not realising they've been lapped...
-
Oh don't worry, he's not. It's just another one of his lies.
-
Nah, we just know you're lying.
-
The struggle is real Nah, it's not *that* perfect (that's why it's more accurate to call it eidetic rather than photographic memory) but yes there are downsides like that

More Sacrifices to the First Amendment

Why just unisex bathrooms? Should we close skydiving dropzones? Because they also present plenty of opportunities for creeps, and as we all know many of those opportunities are also taken. I don't think they would be deterred by a single-sex bathroom. -
Relatively? No...I think I'm just one of those people who seem to remember quite a lot compared to the average person. Many people call it photographic memory - but the more accurate term is actually eidetic memory. It's just how I've always been, and it's a separate, but also interesting discussion

And since the site is shutting down, I think we need to compile a list of this band's greatest hits! Some good ones that I can remember: trying to lecture a semiconductor engineer from Qualcomm about the Shockley–Queisser limit (which he really knew nothing about) linking an academic paper and proclaiming its contents as "facts and observations, not models!" when it was not, and the word "model" was in the paper title predicting Tesla to go bankrupt by 2025 predicting 2023 "won't even hit the top five" warmest years not knowing what a temperature anomaly was (despite posting graphs of it for years) starting his "hurricane season" thread earlier and earlier in the year He's spent thousands of hours trying to say that "it's not warming up at all", cited hundreds of links, made thousands of posts, and it was all for naught. He's now just started a new song: "yes it warmed up but NOTHING is happening" (with his arbitrary, movable goalpost of "nothing" where he's the judge and jury), but the site shutdown will cut that short while he screams into the void... As for me, I'd rather listen to Nickelback.
-
I wonder who Brent is talking to? ..."Old man yells at cloud" edit to add: yes, I definitely believe that you can go on all day Whether anyone's there to listen, or not

Big Tech goes nuclear (and fossil fuels)
olofscience replied to brenthutch's topic in Speakers Corner
He's too angry to notice, even in the other threads. The impeding shutdown of this site must have hit him hard. He spent years and thousands of posts here saying that "global warming isn't happening" and when he turned out to be completely wrong, he now has to move the goalposts to "yeah it's warmed up but NOTHING is happening!" and without the forums, how can he continue to attempt to get the validation that he so desperately needs? -
It's hopeless. He's not actually engaging with you, he's arguing with M. Mann, CSU, and imaginary lefties. That's why he has to declare he's winning all the time (and how could he lose, it's all in his head right?)
-
Did you miss the part where I said...oh never mind Predictably this is how Brent ends his time in SC, and probably in general - shouting against imaginary opponents
-
For the umpteenth time, YES that would be a good thing. If - and a big if - it's true. (But given the record of your ability to analyse data or...read, you're the last person I'd go to for that information) Tthe fact that you have to keep setting up strawmen makes it almost seem like the person you're trying to convince is yourself.
-
He was trying to say, "whoosh".
-
Whatever it is, you won't get it from a random opinion article and a single photo of a paid-for billboard...

Remember The Hundredth Monkey? He was posting some of the worst hate here...he's passed now.
