  1. In the UK the government applied austerity after the 2008 financial crisis, and the effects were brutal: And not only the economic cost: source: https://www.ippr.org/articles/austerity-there-is-an-alternative-and-the-uk-can-afford-to-deliver-it The genius thing is, instead of blaming the issues on austerity or the banks who caused the financial crisis in 2008, the right wing in the UK successfully turned the blame around to immigrants, hence the Brexit vote. Hey, why don't you ask us how's that going too? Hint: they're still blaming the immigrants, even though brexit was supposed to solve everything.
  2. Yeah, not going to happen. Elon did pretty much the same thing to Twitter. What happened was he reduced spending, but he also tanked revenue so - according to Elon himself - it's still "barely breaking even". But he lost millions of users too so it's just a much smaller company in all measures (valuation, user count, expenses, revenue). So my guess is they *won't* balance the budget, but make the US a smaller, weaker country while China pushes forward and becomes the new number 1.
  3. Actually it also explains why he wants Greenland, Canada, Gaza, and the Panama Canal. Putin has told him his penis is larger because Russia is the largest country in the world, and Trump is desperate to make up the shortfall in land area...
  4. All of a sudden there's millions more economic experts defending Trump... Simple question, what was going to happen if the debt wasn't addressed? And when? As JoeWeber said before, national debt isn't like a restaurant bill divided up after dinner. Are you an economist?
  5. You sound like you voted for him and are trying to convince yourself that it was the right decision... I suggest you read "The Psychology of Persuasion" by Dr. Cialdini, especially the section on Consistency.
  6. Seek help. Really, you're talking from a position of extreme trauma and I'm sorry to see that, and you're not speaking very rationally, so I hope you get the treatment you need.
  7. Damn, you're really traumatized. You have to think of what's going on now, not 80 years ago. Again, I live in one of those 15 minute cities and you can ask me more questions. In any case, I hope your situation now is far away from whatever traumatized you.
  8. Uh huh. So, do you have an actual argument on topic or what?
  9. Nice try at denial - very Trump-style. You didn't respond to my request for clarification though. Looks like you don't really have a thought-through argument. Feel free to ask me questions though, as I mentioned, I live in one of those 15-minute cities.
  10. No, it shows your character too. You're scared, and I feel sorry for you.
  11. You sound like a toddler caught in the driver's seat of an articulated lorry. If you were qualified to have a weapon, you'd have nothing to fear. But it looks like you need weapons as a crutch for more deep-seated psychological issues.
  12. You seem to not know anything about the mathematics of probability, nor the rules of logic. You can't prove a negative, and there are an infinite number of possibilities with an infinitesimal probability.
  13. I didn't say anything like that. Why are you making things up?
  14. The one not understanding is you...and you still can't see it. Reminds me of the saying: "Remember, when you are dead, you do not know you are dead. It is only painful for others. The same applies when you are stupid." In any case I also live in a 15-minute city, and it rocks. The conspiracy theories about them are bizarre.
  15. You're arguing against a completely different point...I was trying to explain - never mind. ANYWAY, you are right that crime is more concentrated in cities. Cities are MORE likely to be democrat. 1) they have younger populations 2) they are more likely to be more educated and skilled 3) also because of more and more varied interactions with people Cities are MORE likely to have poor areas, because in general they're a LOT cheaper to live in compared to rural. However it looks like you've never done a single study that had to control for various variables, so you're doing all your brain could handle comfortably, one variable - democrats BAD. What happened to you? I seem to remember you were sharper than this 4 years ago. Did you get long COVID?
  16. You didn't get the point - they meant that these cities had no choice but to follow their red states' lack of gun laws. Doesn't matter whether the cities are democrat controlled since they can't do anything about the state law they are in.
  17. You already need a license to drive a car. In the US you don't need a license to own a gun. In Germany, getting a driving license is much more difficult than in the US A car's primary use is transportation, not killing. What's a gun's primary use? Finally, this guy seems to be far-right (AfD supporter). Elon supports the AfD. ONE attack with a car recently. How many mass shootings in the US so far? You seem to be very bad with numbers. Like, basic counting...
  18. That's why have to keep making things up. They don't realise it tells you more about them than anything about you.
  19. You missed out the fact that like you, jaybird started it by completely making shit up because he was losing the argument about the actual topic badly Brent, losing argument: "olof lives in his mother's basement!" Jaybird, losing argument: "SkyDekker is low T, takes Meth, wears spandex!" So much for someone who deals with "facts"
  20. I've also seen it dozens of times here, they think they're in the lead in an argument, not realising they've been lapped...
  21. Oh don't worry, he's not. It's just another one of his lies.
  22. Nah, we just know you're lying.
  23. The struggle is real Nah, it's not *that* perfect (that's why it's more accurate to call it eidetic rather than photographic memory) but yes there are downsides like that
  24. Why just unisex bathrooms? Should we close skydiving dropzones? Because they also present plenty of opportunities for creeps, and as we all know many of those opportunities are also taken. I don't think they would be deterred by a single-sex bathroom.
