  1. 52 million people? Is that how many voted for Kerry? I forget the exact number. 'Tis quite sad. A true testament to the failure of the American education system, the fact that sKerry got so many votes - thanks NEA! You really don't know a lot about conservatives. If you did, you would never make statements like this: Ridiculous. Funny, but quite ridiculous. I personally don't think military service a mandatory prerequisite to hold political office. Nice and admirable, but certainly not necessary. Though I'd like to see it happen and I think she would be an outstanding candidate and President, I do not believe Dr. Rice will run. Also unfortunate, Jeb Bush will not run either. Of Bush Sr, GWB, and Jeb, the youngest is by far the most qualified to be President. Perhaps he will run later, but now would not be the time to do so politically. It would be good for him to go to Washington as a Senator, get on a cabinet, then perhaps go for the big one as a VP then POTUS. I think Romney or McCain will get the nomination for the Republicans. For the Democrats, Kerry will run and be defeated in the primaries. I'm thinking Bill Richardson would be a good candidate for them, with perhaps Evan Bayh as a running mate. I'd prefer Richardson not be on the ticket as he would be a formidable candidate and I lean hard to the right, but were I a leftie (and I used to be) I'd be rooting for him (Run, Hillary, Run! Or Dean, better still!). If the Republicans put McCain on the ticket, he will win, I believe.

  4. Moi? Angry? Please don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry... THE INCREDIBLE JACKASS I used to live in Monterey, which is NEAR the Bixby bridge...and Bill Bixby played David Banner in the series...perhaps if I got angry enough I would turn green and grow to a towering 5' 6" from my present height. Probably not. I don't get angry very often. We need to drink some tequila.
  5. I think you would see Je$$e Jack$on and Al $harpton spontaneously combust if that happened. I'm a stereotypical JACKASS
  6. I AM a JACKASS Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  7. I lived in Memphis for a bit and had some awesome BBQ there. The BEST I've ever had, though, is at a place called THE SHED right outside of Pascagoula, MS. Fucking incredible.
  8. The fellow meant well, but he was waaaaaaaay out of line. I think he should be reprimanded. Get an appointment with the Chief of Police or the Mayor. If they won't set an appointment, have your attorney do it for you. Not sure if you would classify this as a first ammendment violation. Despicable - absolutely. The city acting on behalf of a religion - it's employee, perhaps, but not the city.
  9. Was that YOU @ the tunnel w/BarbaraK and Doug? I was the short barrel shaped fellow with poppy eyes.
  10. I am so sorry to hear that. My deepest heartfelt condolences. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  11. Oh yes. The sneaky JACKASS agreed to help a friend with a problem part time a week or so ago...and now, oh yes...I kicked that problem's ASS!!! I thought it cool, because God forbid I do any engineering at work anymore. Muuuhuhahahahahahahahaaaaaa!!!!!! Now that I've just given him his laptop and kicked his ass out of the door so he can get back to A-town, perhaps I can get some work done around here if I ever get any spare time. Guess the bad weather was good for something, because he would have been here alone and I would have been skydiving had the weather been good this weekend. Screw all that, because I'm taking a long brain break and heading to the tunnel soon! Whooohooooo! JACKAAAAAAAAASSSSSS POOOOWEEEERRRR!!! 12. Hmmm...well...I DID send a picture in with my resume...Larry Bird is white though...AND he's tall... Have to think on this...perhaps I should drink tequila...darnit! Gotta drive tonight...tequila must wait until later...but how CAN I think without tequila? Now I'm in a quandry...Krisanne puts the short man in a quandry...right after RhondaLea smacks him down about rain dances...oh yes...it's anti short season allright...yeah...keep the short man down...screw shorty...keep him dazed and confused when tequila is not an option... 13. What an awesome pic, Paige! That looks cool and fun! Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  14. Oooohh! I see! RhondaLea trying to keep the short man down, I see. The closet NBA fan in her is making its presence known. When in doubt, blame shorty. Vinny doesn't know any rain dances. Ask anybody who has seen me dance. The only dances I'm good at are the JACKASS jig, JACKASS boogie, and the JACKASS shuffle. No rain dances coming out of me. Now we ALL know that Seminole indians were tall. AND that American Indians were masters of the rain dance. Therefore, it's the fault of the TALL MAN and TALL WOMEN that we've been having crappy weather. They think to themselves - Vinny tried to get into the NBA! We'll show that short man! We'll do rain dances so he can't skydive for a few weekends! Ha! That'll show him! We'll keep the short man down...on the ground! Hahahahaha! Well, I say to the tall people this: HA! I've got TUNNEL TIME TONITE! Short Strikes Back! Muuuuhuhahahahahaaaaaa! Short power! Short Power! SHORT POOOOOOOWWWWEEEERRR!!!!! 15. You predicted a civil war? I don't recall that. I do recall the term quagmire being used in predictions and to describe the U.S. onslaught against the regime of Saddam Hussein, however. Don't recall much about leftists predicting a subsequent civil war, mosques being bombed in efforts to incite fighting between religious sects, and Iran back then. Perhaps you could provide me a link or two. I do recall several leftists predicting 10,000 U.S. casualties to topple Saddam Hussein, though I do not recall anyone on the left apologizing for or admitting that they were incorrect. I know this might surprise you, but there has been a lot that HAS gone right in Iraq. The massive turnouts for elections being one of them. The fact that Al Quaeda intercepts consider Iraq the primary location of jihad and not Afghanistan. The fact that bin Laden offered a truce if we would withdraw from Iraq tells me that we should not do so. I do think, given benefit of hindsight, that we could have done somethings better and that we have a lot of tough decisions to make. I don't want those making them to be people that don't even read data or information prior to making decisions or pontificating about them - do you?
  16. Bill, ignoring Iran is akin to lunacy. The Persians were at war with Iraq for years - 8 or 10 if memory serves prior to SH's invasion of Kuwait. They now have a much stronger military than anything the Iraqis could field without US assistance (ie US presence), a very industrial infrastructure which is currently expanding, and a very distinct memory of their previous conflict with Iraq. Iran also has a President that is also, to all outward appearances, a madman. The Iranian President has denied the Holocaust, called for the destruction of Israel, and is whiskey bent and hell bound on acquiring nuclear weapons. Iran and its ruling mullahs also have a long history of supporting terrorism. If you think for a second that Iran would hesitate to strike at Iraq in the wake of a U.S. withdrawal then you have not at all studied the situation thoroughly. Invading and holding Iraq would be tactically and strategically advantageous for the Iranians for far too many reasons. Should the US withdraw from Iraq in its current state, I give it 70/30 odds in favor of the Iranians invading within one year. For the record, I support blow jobs but not perjury or marital infidelity, but that's another matter as you stated. The manner of manifolds vice manifests, however, is most salient I believe. The left, while criticizing the right on every single move it's made with regards to Iraq and GWOT, has neither offered plan of its own nor EVEN REVIEWED THE INTELLIGENCE OR BACKGROUND ISSUES in more than a cursory manner, if at all. Such people have zero credibility when discussing said issues. Now, when I say the left, I obviously mean its leaders and not 100% of the left leaning folks here in the US. Its leaders have done this with pre-war intelligence, documents they requested from judicial nominees (20,000 pages + received on one day and more requested even one day later because the docs were not comprehensive? Not reviewed and everyone with a three digit IQ knows it), and briefings on port security. Lord knows what else. "I didn't review the background data, but I know what I'm talking about!" should be their motto. As I've stated before, Bush was the better of two bad choices in both '00 and '04. I feel he made a good case for going to war but that its execution, with benefit of hindsight, has been flawed somewhat. Note the 'with benefit of hindsight' portion of the preceding statement. The post 9/11 Iraqi-centric foreign policy was odd and misguided, I do believe. The left's opposing arguments were simply insane and undefendable in many cases - much like their arguments elsewhere. Basically your entire point is that you're of the opinion that GWB and his team don't have a clue as to how to proceed. Neither do you or more left leaning political leaders that you like better, but someone else needs to be making the decisions. Perhaps someone else does, and perhaps not. However, I don't believe that anyone who has a history of spouting off at the mouth on subjects they haven't even bothered to study has any business leading our country in any position.
  17. Hope that 31 days passes quickly! I've got lots of friends over there and a few on the way. The weather sux today too. Thank God for the tunnel and tequila!
  18. I've heard of those sands dude. Very interesting stuff there. My thoughts on Iran are many as of late, but i do not think it plausible that Iran would not attack Iraq in the wake of a US pullout. An attack that would succeed, I do believe. Having such a nation in control of that large a portion of the world's oil supply is a huge mistake, regardless of where the US and the West get our oil.
  19. Ahhhh...the words of the 20th Century's greatest President are coming to mind..."There you go again." Make the region more volatile, you say? Odd way of stating 'let the Iranians take over a much larger area of the Middle East and larger portion of the world's oil supply.' Do you think the extra land will satiate the mullahs' desire to support Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terrorist organizations who don't like the US, perhaps? Basically, you don't have any ideas or options different than the administration does, but people more to your liking would undoubtedly do a better job. Hmmmmm...perhaps they could then be in charge, once again not even read the intelligence presented to them, and then choose from the same range of options. OOPS! i'm sorry. Did I mention not even reading intelligence available to someone? Those same people who made arguments that were ignored - perhaps because their arguments weren't strong because they didn't read the intelligence presented them? The same people that talk about ship manifolds being inspected when discussing the UAE port controversy today? Lots of manifolds on ships. Potable water, HP air, LP air...I'm sure those talking about manifolds have thoroughly read the intel/source data on port security almost as well as they read the pre-Iraq war intelligence - wouldn't you agree? They have so much credibility when it comes to presenting alternative arguments, don't they? The arguments against the Bush administration pre-war positions were pathetic and it's small wonder they were ignored. "Saddam doesn't have WMDs! Look at Rumsfeld and Saddam! Here's a picture! Never mind the picture! Saddam doesn't have WMDs! The ones we gave him disappeared into thin air!" And a partridge in a pear tree. Iraq right now is not going well. Any solution leaving Iran in control is a non-solution. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  20. A bit of advice, Bill - don't hold your breath on that one. If I held my breath waiting for leftists to tell me why their beloved icons in the House and Senate didn't care enough about the war they were voting to support to actually read the intelligence to which they had access, I'd be a very blue in the face short man, I assure you. You don't have to look to GWB's stalwart supporters for statements about removing WMDs prior to our arrival. Simply listen to the words of one of Saddam's own generals - he recently wrote a book where he mentioned it. Not really covered by the networks, of course. What do you think our current course of action should be? Withdraw, see civil war break out, and the Iranians move into the former nation of Iraq and gobble it up? Civil war might be inevitable, 'tis true. I would hope that Iranian control of Iraq is not, however. Denying that Iran would love to invade Iraq in its weakened state in the wake of a US withdrawal is sheer lunacy. How do you propose we deal with the current situation? I have heard nobody - and I do mean nobody - on the left offer an alternative plan that's remotely feasible. Only 'BUSH SCREWED UP! LOOKY LOOKY LOOKY! NO WMD'S!! LOOKY LOOKY LOOKY! NYAH NYAH NYAH NYAAAAAAHNYAAAAAHHHH!' Most unimpressive. Nothing like 'we failed to make a valid argument against the President's plan of invasion that would sway either his own opinion or that of the American public' will ever come out of them. The left had the opportunity to make such an argument. They had the opportunity to question the President's Iraqi-centric foreign policy. They instead chose to pout, call him the 'President Select', insist he was illigitemately installed, deny the recession he inherited, and insist that the intelligence GWB and his Cabinet were getting was all wrong whilst NEVER REVIEWING IT THEMSELVES. Do I hold GWB not at all responsible for the current situation? Not hardly. Do I hold Republican supporters not at all responsible? Not by a long shot. Do I consider the Democrats free of blame? Not by a long shot either. During the Bush Administration the Left has played the role of the minority in Congress absolutely brilliantly. However, they have done so only out of a desire to oppose Bush at any cost, and not out of any adherence to any ideology or general plan. They have robbed the nation of what it so deserves - an opposing party that argues coherently, based upon facts, data, and research, presenting an alternative point of view. Now that I've said it, what DO you propose we do now, Bill? Cut and run? Increase our presence? Decrease it? Ask for the Russki's and Chinese to help, perhaps? Initiate tactical nuclear strikes against Iran? What, praytell? Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
