  1. You have my support, Missy! Good luck! USPA# 185660
  2. Sorry to hear about your broken ass, Jessica. That was quite an expensive jump. Keep healing. I agree that its still worth it. I honestly cant say its made me stronger though.
  3. Disturbing aren't they ? No, not so much. I think we should swap avatars
  4. Mine is blue and turquoise. A man could wear it.. but I think it looks much better on ME!
  5. I agree, Darcy. I've never been one to sit around and think about the things I'd like to do, as opposed to doing them. Your attitude is setting a great example.
  6. Lots of men wear pin necklaces. of course... lots of men wear womens underwear too... hehe.. jk. Pin necklaces are quite manly. I'm sure you can commission Pammi to make you one.
  7. What I meant by "Its life.. suck it up" is that people experience losses, disappointment, anger, hurt, and betrayal regardless. So skydiving has nothing to do with it. You can lose someone, or break yourself, in a car accident just as easily as you can in skydiving. Sometimes you just have to accept things you cannot change. I am really enjoying reading everyones perspectives. I dont feel so alone anymore.. keep em coming.
  8. ohhhhh dammit dammit!!! I laughed so hard I almost suffocated!! Now I have a bad case of the hiccups. Some people are just spazzy like that.
  9. I am sometimes a bit overwhelmed by the huge losses we experience in our small world of skydiving. Not just losing friends to fatalities, which is by far the most devastating, but losing friendships, relationships, etc. You even feel for people that you dont know at all. At the same time, I'm overwhelmed by what I've gained from it. You cant lose friends that you never made in the first place. You cant have withdrawls from emotions that you never experience. Sometimes you'd rather crawl in a hole and die than suffer or worry another moment, but what kind of life is that? You have to take risks in life to make any sort of progress. Am I right? Or am I talking out of my ass? I'm interested in your thoughts.
  10. You did AFF at ASC? Yah so did I, and the same situation happened with me. Why? because I had different AFF instructors for every level. I believe my first couple of jumps were under something around a 235..which is HEWGE for me, but ok for AFF. I do recall my level 7 instructor wanting me to jump something like a 169, and I said no way, I want the 190. I'd have to look in my logbook to see what I actually jumped, but thats how I remember it. It was also before they got all the new student gear, so dont bother telling me that they dont even have a student rig 169. Canopy control was not my strong point during AFF (though I never landed off, which is easy to do at ASC), so I cant say that they were just soooo impressed with my progress that I was ready to downsize so quickly.
  11. "Computer Geek" is my occupation. I'm good at it, and I enjoy it, but it has little to do with who I am. I've always been involved in all sorts of activities and willing to try anything. A friend talked me in to skydiving when I was still in college and couldnt afford it. I had recently stopped teaching kickboxing and was really needing a new challenge. I loved it from my first jump! It took me a while to start jumping regularly (had to graduate, get a job, buy gear, etc.). I will continue to vary my activities. Currently I take ballet, play softball, and skydive. But skydiving is something I see myself doing forever.
  12. Cool.. so say THAT instead of "sounds like somebodys having a case of the mondays!" Youre much less likely to get kicked in the shins. Sounds to me like Lizard is just fed up of people taking advantage of his generosity. Dont let the people who go through life being assholes change who you are though.
  13. Aint SKEEERED!! Oh youre from England.. I get it now. I used to live there.. was confused a lot then too..
  14. I have days where I wish I wasn't.. but alas... I am. You can see me flying birdman in groundzero's avatar. He will tell you its him, but its really me in a silver helmet. Dont I look good?
  15. Of course I am, if the weather clears, Saturday looks better in the morning, doh! that kinda rules you out I guess... hehehe Well normally, yes, but I havent jumped in three weeks, so I plan on getting out early. We'll see what actually happens though..
  16. Ok.. go for it! I'm sure she will love it. Just.. be careful how you present it..
  17. So its a promise ring? I dont get it. Personally, if I were presented with a diamond ring, I would either... A. Freak out.. no WAY am I ready to get engaged to this guy! or B. get extremely excited because I think my moment has finally arrived, only to be disappointed that its just a gift. Plus I'd have to wear the damn thing and explain to everyone that I'm NOT engaged.. If its not a proposal, take it back and get her some diamond earrings or a necklace. Save the ring for a proposal. edit: ok, so its not a diamond.. but still...
  18. Soooo.. are you flying us this weekend, Chris?? ps- you stole my avatar..
