  3. Be aware, you're opening a can of worms here Without the aim of starting a long discussion on this topic (probably has been done before), Bernoulli's principles only play a minor role in the description of how wings fly. It's Newton's law's which govern this (actually, Bernouilli follows from newtons laws). Good luck with your presentation! If Bernoulli follows from Newton (which it does), how can Bernoulli's principle and Newton's Laws contribute differently to the generation of lift? Please don't confuse Bernoulli's principle with the incorrect decriptions of airflow over wings seen in some publications. Three times is enemy action

    Colin Powell Quote

Kind-of - it's a half-truth, more like 50% accurate. The official transcript is at the World Economic Forum web site. What Powell said was correctly quoted in part - the quote was "snipped", but it was not the Archbishop of Canterbury who asked the question, and the question wasn't what the "quote" said it was. 5. He used the "if you have nothing real to say of substance then just say a lot really, really fast and hope you wear down the oponent so they can't ask anymore questions" tactic. No - he's naturally inarticulate, he always speaks that way. Three times is enemy action
  6. The politics are simple - King Richard's wife, Queen Maggie, has wanted a park named after her for at least 10 years, and the Meigs site is the chosen spot. King Ritchie has tried several times to close Meigs (he even had it shut down for several months a couple of years ago) but the Governor of IL and business leaders managed to keep it open. This time King Richie has resorted to Gestapo-like tactics and is likely to have succeeded. The "National Security" rationalization is purely bogus. It's the kind of thing to be expected when a family starts to believe it has a divine right to rule. I just wonder where he found city workers willing to work all night. Three times is enemy action
  7. There is no doubt that the US forces shortened WWII, probably by 2 years. However, to claim that without the US the French would be speaking German is simply untrue. Hitler had 4 times as many divisions on the Eastern Front as in the west. One might more accurately say that without the US, the French would now be speaking Russian. And without the British and Commonwealth effort in 1940, the US would have had no handy island to jump of from in 1944. Three times is enemy action

  9. One wonders how crazy (or motivated) he is. I must admit that my only experience of Meigs is from FS2000/FS2002. My first thought is WHY??? My first method in looking for motivation is to "seek the gain", what's in it for Daley? "Homeland Security"? Nah... Meigs has been there a while, and just 'cos it's the MS default airfield ('cos one of the programmers learned to fly from Meigs) isn't an excuse - after all, you can go to ANY airfield in MSFS. The French have a saying - "Cherchez la Femme", but in this case, "Cherchez L'Argent" may be more apt. I suspect that Daley may have an "interest" in another, similar airfield. Then again, Maybe I'm just a cynical, suspicious cop, and experience tells me that it's not the motivation that changes in fraud, just the scale. Mike. "Maggie Daley Park" is planned for the Meigs site. Not that there would be any connection... Three times is enemy action
  10. Agreed. And should I be invaded, I will be out there fighting however I can. My distinction is that it's not "terrorism", per se, because of the target. The target for the suicide bombing was military, not civilian, not, oh gosh, the WTC, or Montreal or Paris or wherever. Not that they "deserve" it, but if the roles were reversed, and Burbank got invaded, and I felt the need to protect, it wouldn't be the civilians as my target. In my humble estimation, and it is indeed humble, it is terrorism when innocents are targeted...be it the Mombasa hotel, the WTC, or the Bali bombing. I looked up the 4th Geneva Convention for the definition of POW. Civilian militias and civilians following military orders and identifiable either by a visible insignia or badge or by carrying a weapon are entitled to POW status if captured, so I'd guess they would not be terrorists. Those hiding their identity as a combatant are not entitled to protection, so I guess it's fair to call them terrorists. Interesting to ponder how this would have applied to the War of Independence. 13. Well, the first picture of me that exists is of me as a baby holding a toy airplane in my hand. I built model airplanes all through grade school, high school and college, and still do. I always wanted to fly, but was essentially unsatisfied with my power and glider pilot's licenses because it didn't feel like *I* was flying, I was always in a machine that was flying. In fact I really get more pleasure from flying R/C models than from flying in my own plane. Then I discovered skydiving. Three times is enemy action
  14. lol I guess the bloody uniforms and all was just to mislead us.. Hey Rhino, I think what Bill was suggesting is that it's just a battery and that it had to come from somwhere. The French (or whoever sold them the battery) could have had no idea that it would eventually end up being used for torture. Would you blame Sears if the battery were labeled DieHard? - Jim "DieHard" would be an most appropriate name. Three times is enemy action
  15. I don't know if you're wrong or not, but I can assure you that had the Germans managed to invade Britain in 1940 , the civilian population would have "fought on the beaches, fought in the hedgerows..." etc. to repel the invader, just like Churchill promised. Three times is enemy action
