Hello All, I would really like to meet another woman in Virginia, to be a skydiving buddy.I have only one tandem jump, but would love to share my skydiving future with a good friend.Someone new to the sport like me, would be best, and there are some other things I'd like to do too, like horseback riding, motorcycle riding lessons, and scuba.So please contact me! Hi Michelle, Welcome! I just made my first tandem jump a short time ago, and believe me, it's the fear of the unknown that gets to you.I'm not afraid of heights, but ever since a diving accident where I hit my head on the bottom of a pool, i couldn't dive into or off of anything head first.My Tandem master made everything seem so at ease, and believe it or not, I felt no fear at all, until we actually got in the door, and that was very momentary, but didn't stop me. Go ahead and do a tandem, you WON'T be sorry, you'll love it! I have no doubt, I'm going to get back into it when i have time and more money of course!Quote

Hi, I had a telemarketer call me once selling cleaning products.I went into a long spiel about did they know how to get a large amount of blood out of a carpet-they hung up! You can also ask them to hold for a moment, and set the phone down and not come back.Lots of fun! -

I just did my first tandem jump, and believe me, the nervousness disappears when you get into freefall, because it's SO AWESOME! Good luck and have fun!

When i did my tandem jump, after the initial shock, I wanted to see what altitude we were at, but was afraid to bring my arm in to look at my altimeter. Don't they have one that reads in line with your arm so you don't have to bring your arm in to read it?I thought I saw one like that in a catalog.

Is there any such thing as mentors in skydiving? I mean someone, besides the instructors, that will kind of befriend,guide,advise a newbie when they're at the dropzone? Or during instruction?

I have a pet-sitting business, and also have had many pets of my own through my life, and it just breaks my heart to see the kind of treatment companion animals are given by some people. As a Buddhist I maintain that we need to widen our circle of compassion to include ALL animals, even the less attractive or desirable.

Sorry to hear that, I never met Mr. Ferret, I'm a newbie to skydiving, but I do sympathize.I've had ferrets all my life, they're fantastic! I have lost a couple to disease/old age, and can't stand insensitive people who can't understand how much they are part of your family/life.

You know what REALLY turns me on? The early stock cars such as the early 60's Mopar Max-wedges, Hemi anything, Shelbys, T-bolts,hey, I could go on and on, but too much drool on the keyboard!
