Sounds easy enough. CB and non CB. I dont think people are asking for 20 different classes of swoopers. How about something simple like CB, non CB, eliptical and non. I dont know how to run a swoop comp I amjust throwing some idea out there. Is there enough interest up at mil-hi for something like that or is it a little to new yet? I am in the same boat you are. That would really be great in my opinion. Being able to compete in a swoop comp where I could be put in a call with my Samurai where I would have a chance to win. Swoop comps are fun anyway but having a chance without having to go CB would rock! If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

Like I said I havent been to the Dublin boogie before so I was trying to say I woul like to see the jumps open to anyone who wants to get in on them. A few of the boogies I have been to I wasnt as fortunate. I look forward to going to Dublin to see what all this hype is all about. Get the multi plane loads ready because here I come! I'm going to try to make it there. Since the storm a lot of my travels this summer have stopped but I can make it to Atlanta I believe. So many cool people I just recently met will be there. I'll take a super otter anyday. Nowhere near as loud as those damn skyvans or casa's. Just a great plane to bail from. There fairly big and tough and built to take an ass beating and ask for more. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

I jumped from a Cherokee 140 before. We took the door off. No big deal there but the manual states you have to put a placard on the instrument panel stating what the limits of the aircraft are for operation with the door removed. We did that because we wanted to do everything legally. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

The door doesnt bother me when I float. I dont like giving the count but I floating doesnt bother me. I am more affraid of falling of the plane while floating which I did while trying to do a 20 way. No No No, I was not even at the Dublin boogie last year. I was just pointing out what I have been seeing from some of the other boogies this year. They advertise BIG WAYS, then I get there and I get the "POPS big ways" or "JFTC" gig. Open it up to everyone. I would like to get on some of these big way jumps at these boogies but I have about 12 years to go. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

Very good question. I did not understand it either until I got into the airline industry. First off the discount carriers dont pay nearly as much as the majors. I work for a regional carrier and someone in the same position with a major is sometime making 4-5 times as much. But it's hard to get with the majors and the threat of layoff's is high. Same goes for pilots and flight crew. Majors also have to purchase larger AC. A 777 costs a lot more than lets say a 737. Some of the discounters like Jet Blue who is based on the east cost and Frontier who is based in Denver dont have to worry about having multiple hubs. Frontier's hub is Denver and Jet Blue is JFK. Not as much money to operate. Those 2 companys also got most of there AC from Airbus really cheap and at zero maintenance cost for 5 years was the deal they got. But carries like Jet Blue who got those deals are starting to hit some hard time because a lot of there planes are coming up due for heavy C-checks which for an A320 will cost usually around 1-4 million and the plane will be out of service for about 3 weeks. They had new planes and didnt have to worry about it before. But it's getting them now. Same with Frontier. Southwest operate almost exclusively 737. Cheaper because you dont have to stock parts for 10 different AC. From what I have also seen about Southeast is unless your a mechanic or pilot, the pay is fairly low. There are a million other reasons I'm sure that I have no idea about. But these are some of the reasons. I'm sure mismanagement is a big part of it also.
