    Conversly I'm sure they'd also support suits to defend the right of students to prey if they wanted to and also to defend the rights of Gitmo prisoners not to be forced to prey if they didn't want to. It's all about that tricky little concept called 'freedom'.

    um... that's the point - that is the way you get a 2-out problem. It's generally when someone deploys their main at the same time as their cypres deploys their reserve. Thus you have two canopies opening at the same time / nearly the same time. It is perfectly possible to have a 2-out on student gear if not easier in some ways. You really need to address this with your instructors before your next jump. edit: I see you've edited out your response. Seriously, the only reason you've seen such a vocal response is you don't just seem have the wrong end of the stick; you appear to have someone elses stick... in fact it's not a stick at all, its a ball. People are concerned for you, that's all mate.

    If you're set on the idea do the sums on selling your current container and buying a new one with chest rings. I wouldn't be surprised if it costs your pretty much the same as having your old container retrofitted... and you get a brand new container for your trouble.

    Should have been picked up by the rigger when mis-rigging it. Should have been picked up by the jumper when packing it. Someone needs to speak to both of them (assuming nothing else has gone on to explain things).

    1 pin has one cutter, 2 pin has 2. You need a 2 pin cypres for rigs with 2 pins and a 1 pin cypres for rigs with 1 pin. This is referring to the number of closing pins a rig has on its reserve system. The vast majority of rigs employ only one closing pin. A couple of designs however use 2 pins. It is imperative you get the right cypres model for your rig. A 2 pin cypres can be converted to a 1 pin and vice versa with a little bit of expense. Most however simply buy the right cypres for the rig they have. Of more concern is your intent to buy a student cypres. You should by an "expert" cypres. Until you have your A Licence you may be required to jump a student model... but that is only going to be for the next 10 - 20 jumps. Buy an expert model - the firing parameters are different and will be "safer" for you in ordinary use.

    Sinker I think you have absolutely no grounds for griping about the responses to your posts in this thread and I think your attitude to has been appalling. You were the one to solicited Keith's response when you posted "his greatest coup has been to convince "enlightened" folks that he doesn't exist." Your use of the term "enlightened" in inverted commas as you did belies your willingness to impose your beliefs upon others and shows your contempt and disrespect for their beliefs. How you then dare accuse Keith of doing what you had yourself just done is beyond comprehension. Don't try to call foul when you have your thumb in the other guy's eye.

    Right, I see what you're getting at now. Really all I have to say is be careful calling people liars based on such sketchy info. It is really difficult to prove a negative as you are trying to do. Just because there is generally little interaction between Ben and Cary and the majority of the management at ASC doesn't mean someone employed by ASC doesn't know something about them being indicted. If no one has actually been indicted then the original poster will have to deal with the fact they've spread rather inflammatory info around based on a rumor. If there has then maybe he did indeed get that info from an ASC employee – despite what you might think from recent trends, their employment at ASC doesn't actually preclude them from having information about going's on with Skyride.

    You'll have no argument with me there - remember I'm not suggesting anything but the fact that some people will consider you a looter if you try to take a school bus without consent before the storm hits. Nor am I. I just don't see how it is terribly germane to the conversation we were supposed to be having about whether or not some people would consider a person trying to take a bus before the storm to be a looter.

    You don't think some people out there might want start shooting at you for trying to steal a bus before the storm? How about reading this text from another thread on this forum: I guess I should modify my imaginary scenario so the police office tries to calm the NO resident and gets shot for his trouble. Sure, not everyone is going to be quite so trigger happy. But evidently there are people who would just think you're just some punk ass looter who needs to be killed... and all because you wanted to take a bus and transport yourself out of halms way. Remeber, not everyone thinks like you, and they're probably armed.
