If memory serves me the X210R came with both a diaper and a free bag. I had one with the free bag. But like Rob said GQ shut down there operation in the states years ago and want to distance them selves from older gear. I would stay away from it if given the choice. For what its worth they land like shit. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

As John said all thing are compressible. But it takes 33,000 psi to compress water a measurable amount. At speed it is like concrete. But only for an instant, once surface tension is broken it is not bad. But that on instant will ruin your day. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Help me understand why you're relying on your audible to tell you when you're below 1k and should go straight to silver but you're not wanting to rely on the Skyhook because it "causes problems?" Relying on either is a mistake, IMO. So do you also not jump with an AAD because it too, might cause problems (AAD's have killed far more people than faulty Skyhooks)? What am *I* missing in this conversation? +1 Spot he is missing the basics of staying alive. And the basics are not electronic devices they are your own awareness and actions. My first rig had everything you needed to survive but was not nearly as comfortable. Rob Harris, Dave Wilds, Tom Piras, Roger Nelson……..They were Gods, World Champions, Icons. They had natural talent, incredible skills and were hugely current………And yet the ground offered them no concession for their level of skill or experience. There are few, now or in the future, who will reach their level in this game we play. Never for a moment become so arrogant as to believe you are the one that has what it takes to avoid their fate. This has been discussed over and over again long before you were in the sport. PD can say what ever they want but it is not the law. There is nothing in Title 14 CFR’s to support their contention. I don’t understand why you have such a problem understanding this. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

The Parachute Riggers Logbook is a whole nother animal from the Data card. Even at that I have never seen a standard required format for the log book. As long as it allows for the required data it should be fine. Mine does not have the boxes you mentioned. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

And we know how well that works. Approximately 30% of fatalities in the last few years have been while trying to land a small canopy. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

I am aware of that. This is mine. http://i397.photobucket.com/albums/pp55/mjosparky/Skydiving/Helmet3.jpg But the discussion was on the Factory Diver. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Slightly off topic, but the insecure little boy in me likes to prove people wrong. You forgot about TI certification: "One of the parachutists using the tandem parachute system . . . Has been certified by the appropriate parachute manufacturer or tandem course provider as being properly trained on the use of the specific tandem parachute system to be used." [PART 105 SEC 105.45 (a) 1 (v)] Tandem jumping is in a category by itself. Even so with the discussion being on wing loading and experience I would say the statement stands. Find one place in the CFR’s that addresses either one. Even Part 105.45 does not say anything about wing loading or experience. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

What are some of these reasons? The only logical reasons I have found for buying a real small rig would be because you fly and swoop a very small canopy and regardless what some jumpers think there are just a small number of jumpers that have the skills to do this safely. The other reason would be to look cool. This is just a guess on my part and would apply to belly fliers since I am not familiar with head downers, about 50% of people jumping tiny rigs also wear weights when they jump Since they mostly do 4/8 way, big ways or fun jumps they are not heavy into swooping. So why the tiny rigs, “looking cool”. How many jumpers have died behind “looking cool”? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

You can find them in most sporting goods stores that sell fishing gear. They sell for about $1.79 and were made to gut small fish such a 10/12 inch trout. Can anyone name the first rig to come with one of these rare collectors item? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

I agree with you, it is stupid to jump a 7 cell reserve made out of F-111 type material with a wing loading of more than about 1.2 at the most. Very few jumpers have even jumped a 7 cell F-111 canopy other than as a reserve. They handle differently and when loaded just a little heavy they can drive you in the ground like a lawn dart. I have around 2,000 jumps on 7 cell mains and fell comfortable with them but my reserve is only loaded at 1.1+. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

nono sorry i know what it is i was wondering what the tso'd weight of the pd reservces were TSO is mainly concerned with “test weight” and “test speed”. All reserves certified under TSO-23d are tested to a minimum weight of 264 pounds and a minimum speed of 180 KEAS. That would give them a Maximum operating weight of 220 pounds and a Maximum operating speed of 150 KEAS. PD lists one of their canopies certified at 290 pounds which means it was tested at 348 pounds. These tests are part of AS8015b which is a standard put out by the SAE and is not even an FAA document. With all due respect, that is your words vs. Performance Designs. I know who I will believe. This is all the FAA has to say about what equipment a skydiver must use to make a skydive. 105.43 Use of single-harness, dual-parachute systems. No person may conduct a parachute operation using a single-harness, dual-parachute system, and no pilot in command of an aircraft may allow any person to conduct a parachute operation from that aircraft using a single-harness, dual-parachute system, unless that system has at least one main parachute, one approved reserve parachute, and one approved single person harness and container that are packed as follows: No where does the FAA address what size the canopy must be or what experience the jumper must have. Attached is a reply I got from PD when I asked them to identify what FAR would be violated by overloading a reserve. As you can see the only thing they could come up with is a vague reference to “careless operation” and “reckless operation” which in context refers to operation an aircraft in such a manner as to endanger people or property on the ground. So you can believe what you want but fact is fact. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Glad to hear that your family is safe. Two FEMA USAR teams for So. Cal are loading and should be on their way by dark. Each team has 72 people and at least 2 search dogs. They are completely self sufficient and will arrive with everything they will need for up to three weeks. They have people trained is all aspects of urban rescue and medical needs. Hopefully they will work nothing but rescues and not recoveries. When it was first formed I was part of one of the teams. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
