Sounds like the same bird to me. No changes...well, except for the soft links.

Did it have only center A's of dacron? Did it have the three top retactable bridle rings? By re-inforced do you mean wider tape? Why do you ask? Yes, it could be converted to a CReW canopy with different pc and bridle. It came with 2 sets...one for RW and one for CReW. Red center dacron A lines and 3 top retractable bridle rings. Plus heavier tape on the leading edge. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

That would be the full CReW version of the Tri with its more open nose, not the hybrid. Forgive me. I bought a Hybrid-Tri from Aerodyne back in 1998 and it DID have a re-inforced leading edge. Standard from the factory. Didn't know they had changed since then. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Wow, the labor that must have gone into that,,, Did you see the photographer's comments under the photograph? I again say, that pilot LOVES his airplane! Amazing attention to detail and beauty. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -

Do you have any idea how much work it is keeping a polished aluminum airplane looking good? Was searching for something different tonight and stumbled upon this beauty of a polish job. Looks like this owner LOVES his DC-3. Mirror finish! Wow. -
Okay, it's not flying, but they're still cool pictures...AND of the plane you were asking for. http://www.abpic.co.uk/photo/1055358/ http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?aircraft_genericsearch=Douglas+DC-3+%28C-47%2F53%2F117%2FR4D%2FSkytrain%2FDakota%29%7CBasler+BT-67+Turbo-67%7CAMI+DC-3-65TP+Turbo&airlinesearch=&countrysearch=&specialsearch=&daterange=&keywords=N86584&range=&sort_order=&page_limit=15&thumbnails=&calccount=1254008&truecount=false&engine_version=6.0 ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Actually I like cats, but not when they torture other pets I love or make an utter nuisance of themselves. I also grew up with an aunt who is deathly allergic to cats, so if I want her to visit the house has to be spot clean. So, no indwelling critters. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Haven't the time right now to research that question at this time. Some articles make it seem that it's FAA, others seem to slant towards the later. However, one is an traffic control offense, the other against the owner's of the plane. Either one you're playing with someone else's safety and someone else's toy, so unless you get clearance from -both- parties you're going to get canned. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Verified that he did not request, nor receive permission for the maneuver. http://www.mynorthwest.com/?nid=11&sid=30378 "Pilot Fired for Buzzing Paine Field A daredevil airline pilot has been fired for a "Top Gun-like" stunt at Everett's Paine Field. It was the maiden flight from Everett to Hong Kong for Cathay Pacific Airlines. Shortly after takeoff, Captain Ian Wilkinson swung back around and flew the 230-ton Boeing 777 only 28-feet from the ground. Several VIP passengers were on board at the time. The problem was that he didn't get permission to do that, so the airline fired him. The incident took place at Everett's Paine Field on January 30. At the time the airline said: "We can confirm a fly-by event involving the delivery flight of a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft departing from the manufacturer's plant. "The airline is conducting an internal investigation into the incident, including the collection of flight data, and interviews with the crew involved. The result of the investigation was the termination of Capt Wilkinson, 55. The airline said Wilkinson had not sought or obtained permission for the fly-by and had been dismissed." Well, I'm a radar guy, not a tower controller, but if he's cleared for a low approach, he owns the runway. As long as he doesn't exceed certain speeds or bend the plane, he should be legal. Doesn't mean his employer would be happy about it. PsychoBob, got anything to add? According to the newscast I'm watching right now (KTLA) the pilot did not request for this maneuver, nor did he receive clearance to do so. Again, according to the news report, the plane was going 300 mph during the fly-by. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

So, the storm that passed through CA finally got to you? Just wait, it gets better with the 2nd pass. It's finally sunny here and things are starting to dry out... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

All the wildlife refuses here are full and there are no "wooded areas" to take the cat to that he wouldn't freeze to death overnight (or get eaten by a coyote or bobcat...desert area). IMO it would be more cruel to subject this cat to that. This cat is NASTY and would not make anyone a pet, no matter how hard they tried. Sorry to say. I'm an animal lover, too (and my neighbor adopts stray cats to spare their lives) but even she doesn't want THIS cat. Yes, the humane society is coming to pick him up. I caught another one earlier in the day and took it to my sister's house where she needed a gopher-catcher in her orchard. THAT ferral cat was at least nice and I think it's got a full belly this morning. And most likely smiling too. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

$2 a day. I had to drive to get it and will have to take it back, but just to see the contentment on my dog's face this morning it's worth it.

Whoo Hoo! Tonight, finally caught that bugger that's been bothering my old dog. He eats my dog's food, takes over and sleeps in her bed and dog house (while she's without), and generally won't let anyone tend to him and whatever fleas he's bringing around. I've had my dog since she was a puppy (15 years old this May) and along comes this ferrel cat to the neighborhood, sporting 2 buddies along with him as well. When he's not pestering my dog, this cat is off eating my neighbor's cat food as well. He's a Tom cat who's taken over the neighborhood. (did I mention he also marked my new front door mat and threshold this week?) Well, I'd finally had enough of it and went and rented a trap to catch him. You know, the one that has a step spring that closes the door behind the cat when he steps up to get the yummy food you left out for him. Just went outside to check the cage and he bit! And he's MAD! Hissing and trying to scratch me through the wire. Didn't know he was actually THIS mean! He's resting in the warm garage now with a blanket draped over to help quiet him. He still has the food and water as he'll wait for morning. Sorry for all you ferrel cat lovers out there, but this cat HAD to go. Now that I've seen him up close I realize just how mean he is and why my dog was never able to sleep when outside (and she's an outdoor dog). She's always wary and pacing when outside since he arrived and sleeps when I bring her in when I'm home. Poor dear. Perhaps she'll rest easy tonight. Do visiting jumpers need to purchase temp USPA memberships?
ltdiver replied to DougH's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Might want to check on that. I have jumped in Perris and have never belonged to USPA. I know twenty people who were there last week; none of them have USPA. Military? If so, you're right...Perris doesn't inforce USPA membership for them since they come with their own comprehensive plan and all. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -

Can't speak for other DZ's but Perris does. Best call your own DZ and see what their policy is. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon -
Wish I could join you fun people, but alas I'm stuck here in the rain of So Cal. Plus busted up so no in-air fun available anyway. btw, if I was born on the 29th I'd only be 11 y/o, so not legal to drink either.... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
