Jim.... Ok...for us Southern CA and NV jumpers, 45 degrees on the ground is more than just sweater weather. ;^) And if you calculate the temp at altitude (14,500) it was a ~chilly~ negative 13 ! Glad I took my warmies along! As for the fun, yeah it was a blast with old and new friend aquaintance made. Felt like a real family without all the growing pains! And the record looked awesome. A beautiful star formation that was held for several seconds...steady as a rock. Can't wait to see the completed video production! ltdiver (one who likes warm blue skies) __________________________________________ http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

Off to Laughlin for the NV state record attempt this weekend. Hey Lisa....send some of your luck our way, k? Both at the games and in the air. Glad you're back. Missed ya!! ltdiver __________________________________________ http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

___________________________________________________ "Good luck on the Pieces of Eight thing. Was that a new record?" ___________________________________________________ Thanks, Paul. Working on the video right now as we speak. Great people, POE! I feel honored that they asked me to do their video. As for the record...they got a real nice 13-way last Sunday, but their record of 14 (done in Raeford, NC) still stands. If anyone knows of other amputee skydivers around the world, let them know of this great group of skydivers and perhaps the record will increase next time we get together. See: http://www.ParachuteHistory.com Thanks for the Mac info, as well. I've been looking at the G4. When do you think the price will come down? It's almost twice the price of the Sony Vaio of the same perameters. See: http://mac.price.com/jump.htm?epg=2918&ID=-2147450990&prodid=-2145931960&vendor_ID=-2147483220&siteid=00000008 Hmmmmmm.... ltdiver __________________________________________ http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

__________________________________________________ its usaully the opposite consumer want something that meets there needs cheaply rather than superior quality at a more expensive price __________________________________________________ And thus the popularity of PC over Mac??? curious, your take on it quade...? ltdiver __________________________________________ http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

Hey Ron! Glad to see you made it back to Holland ok :^). Sure missed you the last part of Sunday. Wish you could have stayed. Say, how's your dislocated finger doing? ltdiver (video Lori) __________________________________________ http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

Ok.....looking to invest for video DV editing (tired of borrowing someone else's 'puter to create and play)... I've read past posts from the archives and they seem split as to who uses a Mac or PC. Whatta you guys think. Which one is the one to invest in? Mac with iMovie and Final Cut Pro...or perhaps Sony Vaio with Ulead and Premier? (landed a job that finally pays! :-), ltdiver __________________________________________ http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

Merrick, Yep, that's Bob Clark from Tulsa, OK there in the pic. Hell of a nice guy and awesome flyer too. You're absolutely right! ltdiver __________________________________________ http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

Spent the most awesome 2 days doing video for the elite group of skydivers "Pieces of Eight" this weekend. (For those of you who don't know about this group they are amputee skydivers, now 21 in number, ranging from the U.S., Russia, Holland, and Australia so far). Great group of guys and now, for the first time, one woman! She qualified as POE #21 today! Congratulations Amy Plagge from Minnesota and new member, #20, Mark Billings from Washington!!) Picture of the group here: http://www.perriscam.com/Images3/dse00250.JPG Anyway...back to the story. After our very first jump today at Perris, we were met with the most amazing news upon landing! Seems that right after exit, SOCaL picked us up on radar and contacted the Rob, the pilot, and reported to him that there was traffic directly below him! Huh? Oh...! That's the group I just dropped, he reported! Must be too much metal in the air at one time and SOCaL picked it up on radar! :-o The group's new name now? "Radar Bate" (compliments of Don Simonds). LMAO!! ltdiver __________________________________________ http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

Saw the watery face-plant out there too, freeflir29! (big grins :-) At least we're experiencing 70+ temperatures, so it should have been a pleasant splashdown at least! As for the live 'freefall-cam', Jack just wrote that it isn't working up to norms, so we'll get a view of just the swoopers from now on. 3 more days of blades! Whoo Hoo! weekend, here I come! ltdiver __________________________________________ http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

Check out perriscam for a live feed of both the Para-Performance Challenge and Kate and Tony's 120-way Sequentials! Looks like too much fun for a 'work day'! Wonder how many called in 'well' to be there :^) http://www.perriscam.com/index.htm think I feel a cough coming on boss....! ltdiver __________________________________________ http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

Ah Jeb!! He'll get it -next- time! What a guy! I was there when he took his first skydiving baby steps out there in the desert. He's come a long way, baby! Grins, ltdiver __________________________________________ http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

See: http://www.faa.gov/apa/update.htm Those VFR airplanes with transponders (or waiver filed) are allowed in class B airspace except in Boston, NY, and D.C. Ah....progress. ltdiver __________________________________________ http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

Actually, Patrick DeGiardin did it this stunt first and was successful flying from a Porter and back into the same plane. It hasn't been duplicated yet (that I am aware of). ltdiver __________________________________________ http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

Hey Paula! Otter Limits was a fun team to do video for and hang around with. Christy did a good job of slotting in, for sure! Glad she could do it. I was actually real sad to leave Eloy after the competition. The team kind of grew on me. Are all Texans this way? Don't listen the woman (Dr. Laura)..... I was just mearly quoting a patient who shared this philosophy with me yesterday after going through a paralyzing episode that left her fending for herself. Could learn alot from those who can't walk anymore! If this quote originated from the above mentioned (and I know you don't listen to her either) how'd you know about it? :^) Blues, ltdiver __________________________________________ http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

___________________________________________________ 50. If buttered toast always lands butter-side-down, and cats always land on their feet, what would happen if you tied buttered toast to a cat's back and dropped it? ___________________________________________________ Perhaps the answer to prevent 'bouncing'! ;^) Whatta you think? Strap a cat to a student's belly and put buttered toast on the student's back. Create a theory of perpetual motion and they'll never land!! :-) Grins, ltdiver __________________________________________ http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

Gives a WHOLE new meaning to the definition of 'break-off', don't it! Shutter........ __________________________________________ http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

ummmmm.....Weid, There -might- have been other Cypres fires than the one you remember happening. Both Paul and I were there when the aforesaid 4-way team had Cypres fires, indeed geeking the camera (before Nationals started). One member had a downplane into the soft dirt student circle and was very lucky to have lived! Blues, ltdiver __________________________________________ http://www.discover.net/~ltdiver

I'll second that, Marc! "If you want to walk on water, you've got to get out of the boat!"

Hee Hee Hee! Steve's long overdue for this recognition! Welcome to the land of the pubished, 'son'! ltdiver (published and happy:-) "If you want to walk on water, you've got to get out of the boat!"

Most often the answer is just to relax and smile. Potato chipping comes from being too tense. Grins, ltdiver (one who had the same problem during my student days ;-) "If you want to walk on water, you've got to get out of the boat!"
