If for example you take the gross receipts for the last week of January this year, Iraq was getting in the range of $400 million dollars (gross) per week. Admittedly, the price of oil fluctuates, and the 'allowed' production varied. However, where did all of the money go over time? For 'food and medical' supplies or to Saddam's war machine? And of the portion that truly went to those in need, I'll wager that the lion's share went to groups that were devoutly loyal to Saddam's regime and supported it in various ways.

I think the statue should be sent back but changed slightly (see attachment). Now before somebody jumps on me, be sure to look at the attachment first ;-)! There was a note passed around work a couple of days ago quoting people's opinions of the French through the last century.
