  1. Having some trials and tribulations with a 206RB-2. If you can help, please email me at: DistantThunderTac@hotmail.com Thanks in advance- DT
  2. AggieDave, $2k is at the outer end of "affordable" for us at the moment. I'd appreciate a link or info in a post here or sent to my email on profile. Thanks for the lead :)
  3. 'Afternoon, Looking for an affordable bartacker that can handle light harness work and multiple layers of parapack/cordura....and I don't want to spend a mint. Any Leads? Thanks DT
  4. Payback, I'll shortly be moving to the York, PA area with my new shop, I understand there are DZ(s) and riggers to apprentice with *hopefully* in the area. We've been working with rappelling harnesses, parapack, cordura and webbing of all sorts for a few years now, so hopefully the sewing aspect will come easily. Everybody else; Thanks for the warm welcome :) I've only been hampered from jumping so far by those two pesky things called time and money, heh heh. I look forward to learning how to do something I've always wanted to do and to avoid being called "you nasty leg" by my paratrooper father and grandfather. thanks again, DT
  5. Heather, At the moment, smaller quantities. Big on the shopping list is Tan Type 8, Type 13 and Type 17, in addition to Tan 1" Tubular nylon and Tan 1" edge binding tape. We do a lot of custom tactical nylon and we've had a lot of orders lately for stuff in tan/ 3 color day desert camo....OD looks so out of place over tan/3 color day desert. Thanks again DT
  6. All, I'm seeking sources of rated milspec parachute webbing, thread, hardware and cordura/parapack (other than para-gear....great stuff-harsh prices) Can anybody help? I am especially seeking tan/beige webbing, tubular nylon and thread. Thanks in advance
  7. Sorry to swim in somebody else's pool- I'm not a rigger, but I do work in commercial sewing-specifically custom tactical gear. There has lately been a huge debate in some areas of the tactical arena over Spectra body armor having failures when exposed to heat such as being left in the trunk of a car or a wearer spilling hot coffee on him/herself. In addition, there was some concern about Spectra failing after exposure to moisture, etc. There is more information available over at Tacticalforums.com under the Mad Dog Labs heading.
  8. Hi all- I'm the manager of a small custom sewing shop working in leather and nylon building/repairing custom holsters, luggage, outdoors gear, tactical gear, etc with a life-long interest in parachutes and skydiving and a family history in military parachuting. Nice place you have here :) Distant ThunderQuote
