April, 1974 was the famous toronado in Xenia, Ohio. I will try to answer, what has happened to the originals. I think I have it correct. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Miss Famous "the lady" Patt Valley Roberts, deceased, 2003, cancer. Nancy Kurlin alive and still skydiving in Florida. Suzzane Shearer "Pike" skydiving related in Florida, Karen Dean SSK in Lebanon, Ohio, Don Bucklin, medical doctor in Ariziona, Brian Barrett, ?, Jim Fangmeyer Flying Elvis, still at SGC, Roger Gardner, flying in the center of hurricians for the goverment, still in Louisiana?, Chris Milliken, deceased, cancer, Andy Spurlock ?. Terris Burris, ?, Jeff Sanders, deceased with "Cowboys Caravan", Jayne Marchant Haslam, and Scott Haslam, deceased, private aircraft accident. P.S. this is a very quick recount and memories on my part, and I may not be correct on all, but I think I remember it correctly. Skies blue, and much love to our SGC CRW members that have been lost to us over the years. Lee and Jim

Spinach artichoke dip, ymu yum. Party has been going on for 42 years always the first Saturday in December. I'm still hanging in there, and still enjoy!

Anykind of real food. Go easy on desserts, we always have way to many. (Now probably this year we won't have enough). Who's to know? Just bring something and BYOB and drink. Any food left over goes to the DZ the next day.

Dropzones near Cape Coral, FL
Greene replied to ianmdrennan's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Sorry we missed your visit today at Skydive Southwest Florida in Labelle, Florida. Myabe next time. Clewiston is a great dropzone, and we are sure you had a great time. They are a top notch dropzone. Any dropzone that states "they allow hook turns" has opened themselves for a wide variety of conquences. We so not condone or recommend hook turns. However, skydivers still continue to do them at our dropzones, and not with our blessing or permission, but they still do. As long as they take their own responsibility for the skydive and their landings, that is what we are trying to get across to the skydiver. The skydiver also must realize that, we do not allow them, and if they then do them, that is their problem when a hook turn goes bad. If you choose to do a hook turn, afer we told you not to, at any of our DZ's and you get injured or die "we told you not to do them" Your choice, not ours. SGC -
On your way South, come to our 42nd Christmas party at Skydive Greene County. The party is always held at our home. BYOB and a snack. Ask any of the regulars it is a blast. You may be thinking, "if a party is at your home", if must be a small gathering". Think again. Our home will handle many party people. Have had up to 250 at one time. :) Come visit before heading further South. You can rest assured you will have a warm bed at our home, unless you would like to party further on after our party says, "done now", usually around 2 or 3 am. I am sure others will party with you, and you should know who they are. If you choose not to go with them, then go upstairs and take the second bedroom on the left. :) Lee

Nice post.

Stay tuned, it is not over yet, and the latest is they broke their own record today. Not confirmed yet. Like I said stay tuned to the CRW thread or this one.
-
Believe there is another record? Not for sure yet. Same place, same skydivers, and same aircrafts and same great pilots. Guess who. Lee

Your answer was exactly what I would have expected from you. If I had been responding to my post, that would have been my exact response.

Tennesse Skydiving Center -- Aircraft

Same thing has happened to us. We do not honor skyride certificates. Are any DZ's actually affiliated with the "National Skydiving Association except for all of ASC "skydiving centers" across the country. Never heard of them. "Wildblue", to answer your post a while ago, yep, we were approached early summer. After the pitch, we told them we would never use their services Lee SGC -
Your reply to Prhree Zones post. Your quote to his post "Which means occasional visitors get to subsidize the "locals" SG
-
You are so wrong Mr. "Professor"?? We have never charged annual dues, and very very seldom do we ever charge a registration fee, and then only on very special event. We are proud to say only one registration fee was charged this summer, for the OHIO CRW record attempts. The skydivers did receive discounted jumps, and yes the registration fee went to pay the professionals in our sport to come to Xenia and to pay for their expenses for the to travel from afar to the mecca of Xenia, Ohio :) Visiting skydivers never "subsidize" our drop zone. Visiting skydivers and our regular skydivers pay the same amount. Have no idea where you came up with that statement that you as a visiting skydivers would subsidize our DZ. jumpers .( Skydive Greene County skydivers and visiting skydivers pay the same going rate. $20.00 to 13,500' , plain and simple. Also food is usally 99.5 percent free, and mosly 100 percent free. At Skydive Greene County, yep you bring your own drinks, we never provide beer. Never have, never will. Skies blue SGC

African American SkyDiver! What?
Greene replied to TXBLKBEAR's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Where did you get 500 tandems and three black tandems? I said we have three currentyly advanced skydivers and much more than qualified skydivers! They are some of the best skydivers, and they do not need to be rated by the color of their skin! We have had many " Black Americans" or "African Americans at our DZ for many years. Are you the real idiot everyone in your area, and your previous area think you are? Live and learn for all of us! There is no color in skydiving or in families! Lee
