The intec heel system lets you pull a cord on the top of your boot and release the binding. It is used in a carving setup and is a little pricey. visit www.bomberonline.com look at the trenchdigger2 stepin with intec heels.

PM me where it is and I will look up the wavelength and angle of the radar

I worked with C-band Doppler radar in college a bit. Inside the dome you would see much of what looks like a old satelite televisons dish that people used to have. It is on a post about 15 feet tall and pointed in a 30 degree angle(towards the sky) If you were to stand in front of the magnetron you would receive 50kw of radation. Don't hang out in these areas. If climbing a tower next to one just climb don't hand out. I help a fellow basejumper once and in the dark was standing in front of a dish and the next day couldn't stop sweating and was sick to my stomach. Effects at this level (no mind you would have a hard time or just dumb luck to get directly in the path of the dish)changes in cell membrane function, major changes in calcium metabolism and cellular signal communication, cell proliferation, activation of proto-oncogenes, activation of HSP heat shock proteins as if heating has occurred when it has not and cell death. Resulting effects reported in the scientific literature include DNA breaks and chromosome aberrations, increased free radical production, cell stress and premature aging, changes in brain function including memory loss, learning impairment, headaches and fatigue, sleep disorders, neurodegenerative conditions, reduction in melatonin secretion and cancer. The virtual revolution in science taking place now is based on a growing recognition that non-thermal or low intensity RF exposure can be detected in living tissues and results in well-defined bioeffects.

didn't know if this was old/new or unknown news. It was sent to me from a Paraglider and thought I would share this to see if it was known. Thanks, you guys are on it.

BASE Jumping in Snow Canyon State Park -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Proposal to be presented to the Board of Utah State Parks and Recreation from the Snow Canyon State Park Management: "Snow Canyon State Park Management Team requests the park be added to the prohibition current in place at Dead Horse Point State Park, rule number R651-633-1 prohibiting BASE jumping within the State Park. The reasons for the prohibition are as follows: The BASE jumpers, because of their landing sites, are violating the parks 'stay on designated trail' rule. The only area suitable for BASE jumping is located above the main technical climbing wall in the canyon and as such creates a very unsafe condition. There is also a heavily used walking trail below the area where the BASE jumping occurs also creating a hazardous situation. The request for a rule prohibiting hang gliding/Paragliding except by special use permit comes out of the Snow Canyon Resource Management Plan (page 56). Snow Canyon has now become, as always predicted, an urban park. We are constantly faced with new and ever-increasing recreation demands on the resource. Most of these demands can be met with a little thoughtful planning and be accommodated with our special use permits. However, BASE jumping in the only area within the canyon suitable for the sport, presents issues that we cannot easily solve and therefore prohibition is the step we feel must be taken in this instance." Pilots would need to obtain a permit and approval directly from the park. Ski, snowboard and all of those others are really hot. I started wearing(when I jumped) my Hang gliding/paragliding helmut. They have earholes and are really lightweight. They are a little pricey http://www.flyaboveall.com/icaro/icaroplus.htm I have the carbon optic and love it..

Doesn't blood reach boiling point at about 60k?

this is off the wall, but you try being broken for seven months in bed. I just completed BASE on Grand Theft San Andrea:) I even had a cliff strike and my guy lived. Yes I am bored

there is actually a psychologist studying BASE jumpers right now and how their IQ and Personalities relate to each other and if it is possible to put a label on the type of personality. Mostly very neurotic and smart.

my vario samples every 10 seconds I think not a real good freefall stat, but great for glide ratio under canopy
-
http://www.ballvarios.com/ The product exists for paraglinding, it would take some treaking to deal with freefall speeds, but for under canopy it works perfect.

I didn't hurt myself on a base jump...I hurt it on the landing:) I really am not going to share the details just a building jump and blew my knee and broke my leg all the way from my knee to my ankle, pulled the tendons from my toes and broke my foot in many places.

I want one because I am 7 months into recovery and won't walk normal again...stuck with a cane.

Yes, I was referring to a SAT but am not a fan of throwing out an acronym to peoples and stuff I figured it would be easier to just call it that. Negative spin in base is a 180:)

I first want to say that parasailing is usually done behind a boat and doesn't require any real training to fly it. The ground crew does all of the work. Parapente or Paragliding is very helpful to flying a BASE setup. I have been Paragliding for Ten years or so and I tried Base about 50 times. A Paraglider is like a Lotus and a BASE canopy is like a Reliant K. Both canopies are very different but the ram air wing fundamentals apply to both. I can now do a negative spiral on my Paraglider where I really don't think a BASE canopy will ever(BOdy stays in the middle of the spiral and the wing spins around the pilot, it's great cause the wing takes all of the G's and you still dive.) It really helped because I didn't have to learn to land or spot land again. A little retraining has to happen but other than that it won't hurt you to do both. On the back protector thing mine totally saved my life. Mine is filled with air and kevlar and it took a hard enough hit to splinter the kevlar. I prefer a front mounted reserve after that fall because it is closer and the handle isn't hard to find.
