Warning..I'm about to Vent. So there I was..... At the Circle K getting me some coffee and then this guy comes in and starts bitching to the clerk about the price of gas. The clerk is polite and states that the prices are set by the corporate office. The guy then goes off and is screaming about how we don't import oil from Iraq and the prices should be that high. He starts going off on the political rant and the clerk is standing there just being patient and gives the corporate response again. The guy is getting more agitated and I had to tell the guy that he needs to be a gentleman and behave himself. Of course he gives me a big Fuck you and leaves. The clerk gave me my coffee for free and thanked me

So I take my main that I just bought to the rigger and he spreads it out and what do you think it says on the side of it. Of which I should I ask. I've been to Perris once and somwhere very near I smelled the sweet smell of cow shit. Of course it smells way better than some of the loads I've been on but if the wind is just right can you smell it at the DZ? Just a thought Ed

We get a lot of foreign students that go through AFF. I always wonder if the totally understand everything but they always do ok. Landing on a roof tho....too funny. Ed

Yeah it's pretty great. Not everyone can skydive but I swear if they can figure out how to get you strapped in you're going! I've seen some pretty great stuff. A paraplegic, 80 year olds, Sorority girls with pom poms and spatulas to scrape their friend off the ground, and my personal hero..the guy with brain cancer. The guy with brain cancer... I remember feeling sorry for him. I saw the scars on his head from the operations he had. Then I realized I only felt sorry for him because I knew what I'd be doing if I had his condition. I would be full of self pity, depressed and waiting to die. This guy was out living large...no need to feel pity for him. A friend once asked me if I knew tomorrow was my last day what would I do. When I seriously thought about it I told him. He said ok so when are you going to start doing them? What are you waiting for? I've done most of the things I've thought about. I feel great for doing them too. But it's Mon morning so let's not get to heavy. Memorial day is going to be great. I gotta go borrow a tent. Blue skies and cheers! Ed

So there I was..... We get all kinds of folks at the DZ making tandem jumps as I'm sure you folks also do. Well today it was some students from Israel. They go to college here. One good looking hunny. Low riders tight top ya know the avg young'n and 3 other dudes but a little more old school...let's say taditional. Big Beards, yamikas, the whole package. Well of of these guys is just a rock. Not scared...ready to do it..goes up does the tandem walks off the landing area as calm as can be. I was blown away...usually it's "oh my god it was soooo amazing...so on and so forth..you all know the drill. Anyway the video is a riot because these guys beards are doing some cool shit in freefall. Funny as hell. Of course I'm tired and I start getting goofy..what is they got it to it and started a freefly team..."Head Down Hebrews"..man that would be sweet with those beards. Wow...that story sucked. I gotta get some sleep. So seen any memorable characters at your DZ lately? Ed

I only wish there was more light and I had video. Nice PLF by the way..textbook. So I'm on the grass waiting and I see the "Daughters of the Downwind" approaching. I'm just going what the.... Michele first...I was glad to see she made it ok but I gotta tell you seeing legs and butt in the air on landing is a great sight. Ummm never mind that. Ok then I look up and see Cora and see if she saw that and is going to turn...nope right on in (lemming thing I think)...it was great. No one hurt and lots of dirt! I had my own downwinder earlier that day. On my 3rd jump the winds had changed. Spoiled by the consistent winds in San Diego by the time I realized I was going downwind it was too late. Came in hot hand held a nice swoop (for me). I was like sweet..check me out.. of course didn't hold it long enough and couldn't run it out...big biff daddy. Great fun! 1:4:0: One downwind landing (unintentional) another first by the way. Four Jumps...Gwain and Viking were cool. Yep...I blew the count. My first 4 way and I was nervous as hell Great fun tho. No beer. I was going to buy a few rounds but no bar at the DZ. First time at Elsinore. Asked if they wanted to go out but it was getting late and everyone had a long drive. So I'll just have to save it for next time. Hell I was ready to go dancing. Had a great time. Everyone at the DZ was pretty cool. blue skies Ed

Blah where to start. I read the boards with opinions and views about this conflict. I don't live in a fairytale world were everything is perfect and I am well aware that people have differences. I see replies that appear to be very intolerant at times. One thing that I have seen since I've been involved in skydiving is solidarity. Maybe I only see what I would like to see or maybe I've been blinded by something else but I have met people who celebrate living. Sure there a few a-holes who are full of themselves but on the whole the skydiving community is a tight knit group that looks out for their fellows. I've seen it on these boards and I've seen it at the DZ. Someone is always looking out for my best interest. Maybe it's something simple like me struggling with something on my harness or someone willing to coach me on a freefly jump. I have found a sense of acceptance and friendship though this sport. We share a common bond that brings us together in more ways than one. So enough rambling for now but maybe some patience and understanding and tolerance for each others views could go a long way. My $.02 brothers and sisters Glad I got that out..my serenity was really getting fucked up

Oh damn was this thread about vball. Well the ass looks great anyway. I played on a few beach leagues in San Diego and Hawaii but it was a while ago. I could probably hustle up the skills again if need be.
