  5. Always sit 10th-15th row in any theatre. Arena seats depend on the building. We had a bunch of Cirque performers here the other night for the Chick Corea concert. Remember the big tent show they did in Austin? Spent a couple of Saturdays jumping with their lighting designer. Really cool people. 7. Agreed. Keynesian economics was the answer to everything in the thirties, but to a large degree irresponsible and shortsighted business has always cost us in the long run. I'm not sure how much I would have trusted "market forces" in the thirties to stabilize. Some of the regulation of the thirties has contributed to stability today. The Federal Reserve, FDIC, etc. L.A.S.T. #24 Co-Founder Biscuit Brothers Freefly Team Electric Toaster #3 Co-Founder Team Non Sequitor Co-Founder Team Happy Sock
  8. Interesting take on FDR. The man who was saddled with the worst economic situation since Reconstruction. His methods of dealing with the Depression in hindsight are often credited with the things you mention. Massive centralization and the class warfare. Class warfare has always existed in this country and will likely remain that way for sometime. Price we pay for a "free market " society. However, I do disagree with the massive centralization of Government. I certaintly agree that the New Deal was perhaps the genesis of the current size of government, but I also think that the Cold War and the Great Society had much larger and longer lasting effect and will continue to do so. Both political parties have deeply entrenched constituents that now require the continuation of a massive Federal government. In addition the American people now require it also. Anyway, at least we can sit here and carp at each other's political opinions and not get jailed for it. 9. GWB without a doubt. Wendy is right the rest of the world will refuse to conform to his idea of the way things should be. This is the danger of the current administration and their inability to see beyond their own narrow view of "rightousness". Even Nixon at his most paranoid wasn't this dangerous. 10. Typically Presidents suffer a significant down turn in second term poll numbers, but that hardly matters when the country has been saddled with what could be the single worst President in American history. It is not my intention to be inflammatory, but I cannot honestly think of a single thing this administration has done right. I am under the very strong impression that a lot of Americans are simply waiting for the mid terms to kick off the process of returning our country back to some kind of sensible, practical leadership. Go on buy ....it ...buy it!! It's a pocket Porsche. My favorite car ever was my 85 Scirrocco. I loved the body style, it was just fast enough to get me in trouble but not enough to kill me and handled like a dream. I have an 01 Sentra now. Very sensible, economical, gets me to the DZ and back on half a tank.....yaaaawn. Need I say more? 16. Then why, pray tell, are we there? So we can take the oil. As i'm sure you are aware, It would have been much cheaper and rational on so many levels to have paid full retail for Iraqs oil than to have taken it by invasion. Besides we get most of our oil from Venezuela and other countries. I have yet to fully understand the rationale for this most avoidable conflict. Thankfully, some people are beginning to see through the pathetic veil of proganda nonsense. It is my opinion that a draw down will begin within the next year. The mid term elections are proving to be a deciding factor. This Administration has involved us in the phoniest war since 1898. It has committed OUR soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines to a war with no political goals and no visible end and it serves no national defense purpose. No one at home has had to sacrifice anything of significance, save the families and friends of those killed or injured in this war. Their sacrifice will linger for many years to come. I think we are rapidly approaching the"enough is enough" point. This is not a "good war". This is arrogance unbridled. 20. Mine has those wrinkles occasionaly. But I have a smaller main now and I can usually eliminate them with very careful packing, which I rarely do. I would highly recommend an Infinity.
